So: the MGT WJ is somewhat heavier than the Habu J, and the fit might suit me better. I’m rather skinny.

The Mille GT WJ is heavier than the Ultraz, but the latter is warmer and for me has a better (slimmer) fit. I'm not skinny (185cm and 81kg) but certainly not big either. Although the Mille GT WJ feels like it should be warmer because it's heavier it's not and the light weight of the Ultraz a real boon as I hate feeling like I'm wearing tonnes of kit in the winter.

I run fairly warm.

It is fair to say that when new, the Habu and the Bonka contain more tech than the Mille GT jackets. However, that tech in the Bonka and the Habu is now many years old, where as the membranes in the Mille GT Jackets are brand new.

Have the Intermediate jacket as well...I would say it is below the Habu. The material on the back of the Intermediate looks/feels thiner (for breathability I guess) and the arms/chest don't seem to have the same protection against the wind. i.e. the Intermediate looks/feels like it is just 'spandex' while the Habu has some sort of "wind blocking" material.

Intermediate is a spring/autumn - I'd wear that around 8-14c

so if the Mille GT jackets are entry jackets...what's going on with the Habu and Bonka jackets. are they getting an upgrade in materials with the same slim fit?

I have both and just tried the Mille GT Jacket for the first time this past weekend. I found the Mille GT a bit tighter around the chest/arms area when standing normal but once riding on the hoods/drops it's fine. Definitely tighter, so if you have 'big' arms/shoulders maybe try one size up.

I wear the Habu with the 'early winter LS skinfoil' and the 'winter LS skinfoil' with the Mille GT jacket. All of my Assos apparel are size I/M and fit snug but not tight that I can't move freely while riding.

Actually I was thinking that the Mille GT jackets would have a looser fit than the Habu/ Bonka but reading the post above I am not sure anymore....

From what kookie writes I gather that the Mille GT Winter Jacket is somewhat more snug fitting than the iJ.Habu.5 but not as snug as my iJ.BonkaCento.6.

I never tried the iJ.BonkaMille.6 which IIRC was marketed as Regular Fit, like the iJ.Habu.5.

Note that I wore the 'early winter' skinfoil with the Habu and 'winter' skinfoil with the Mille GT Winter. Not sure if that makes a difference...'winter skinfoil' being maybe a little bit more "thicker".

If you have a GC rider type build (eg. Froome), it probably won't feel tight at the arms/shoulders. I usually wear a medium for everything and my chest measures exactly at 96cm (maybe even 1-2mm more).

I guess you could say I have a GC rider type build, chest 98 cm. I wear medium in Assos shorts and jerseys, but for jackets I have to size up to L because of my crazy long arms (and my legs are pretty damn long too). I've actually had the sewing machine out on all my Assos jackets, making the arms narrower.

My Ultraz arrived yesterday and hoy cow it's a lovely jacket. It's supposed to get a fair bit colder here next week so it'll get a test then. Too mild currrently.

FWIW I'm a L in jerseys but the L in this jacket was crazy tight on the chest and below so I've sized up to an XL. Still a nice, slim fit and with room for layers underneath. I'm 185cm and 81kg, with a 41" chest and 34" waist.

Does anyone have experience with Bonka gloves? I have all three layers (inner glove, earlywinter glove and lobster shell). It is clumsy but does its job of keeping my hands warm during really low temperatures. Does it even make sense to think about Bonka gloves? Are they warmer than my current combination? I don't care that much about clumsiness, can live with that...

Bonka gloves are the best I have ever owned.
