Another Mille bib update. It seems like they're updating things yearly now and I feel like this is becomming a Castelli thing.

Change is always inevitable but I liked the smaller lineup before. Lesser choices, less complications. The last complicated line was the S7?

Neo pro-Equipe-Tiburu-Cento-Campionnissimo

I owned the NeoPro bibs and used it heavily for training and trainer duties. It must've lasted me 3-4yrs until today that I think the pads have flattened and are worn now. I lucked out on a discounted RS bib last Monday, so I may relegate my Equipe S7s now to training/trainer duties.

Hello, just got assos winter jacket ultraz size S.

I'm 67 and chest is 90cm, usually assos I wear Small. I tried the jacket and I have to admit is very tight; Does it is in your opinion the correct fit for such jacket or maybe would be better a medium? Is there really a big difference between the 2 sizes?

Thanks in advance

i tried on an Ultraz before and found it very tight especially when you're standing upright. Did you try going on your position on the bike to see if it corrects it?

When Im ready to replace my winter jacket I'll be buying a Medium. No way I can wear a heavy baselayer inside and expect to fit myself in a Small. It's literally condom fit.

I had to size up to an XL in the Ultraz - I'm an L in everything else I have from Assos.

Just bought an Ultraz, size Medium, I am 178cm for 68kg. Fits me very well. Race tight but not uncomfortable, I can wear it all day long with a decent base layer.

In terms of the garment, it is SO good. Tried in 1C and think base layer and was very warm. Looks also the part in black and national red.

Edit: paid £193 from Sigma while on sale. Can't complain!

Just picked up the new Equipe RS spring / fall jacket (more or a LS Jersey).

It's amazing on the skin (will wear with sleeveless base layer in 5° temps).

£265 is a lot of money but you can see where it's been spent on this item. So much detail and great touches.

Will report back on how I get on with it. Primarily it shall be used for flat out 1-2 hour sessions, so getting cold hopefully won't be an issue...

Can someone please give me a 3 word class on the new bib S9 line? I had several Cento S7, which I loved, until an airline lost my bag without trace with most of them and my jerseys in it.

There is so far no equivalent to the Cento S7 (or Cento EVO) in the S9 line. I'll try:

Équipe RS S9 equals Équipe S7
Équipe RSR S9 equals "Campionissimo S7 with Équipe S7 insert" (It has the same insert as the Équipe RS S9, but fabrics similar to the Campionissimo S7).
Équipe RS 23 S9 equals Tiburu S7

So, the Cento S7 was the long distance/all day comfort. The Campinissimo was the racing day or care bib short. The Equipe was for what again?

I loved the fit, compression, and pad of the Cento S7.

So following up on dgasmd and the idea of a Cento bibshort replacement, will Assos produce a new "long distance" short with a thicker pad?

The Campionissimo was the non plus ultra best of days top model racing short. The Équipe was the racing short.

Assos have three garment groups for men
Mille GT
Équipe RS
Avantgarde

There’s not much in the last one yet and I guess a S9 Cento replacement eventually will go there. In the meantime the Cento Evo is a refined Cento S7.

Where does the Mille GT jackets (Spring/Fall, Winter, and Ultraz Winter) fall into the hierarchy? My impression is the older ij.Habu and ij.Bonka jackets they've replaced are positioned higher than the Mille line (more like Equipe stuff). Is there going to be Equipe or Avantgarde version of Mille GT jackets?

Mille GT is lowest, yes, and any garment that has a name starting with Mille GT belongs there.
They’ve just released a new Équipe RS Spring/Fall jacket along with other garments in that line and temperature range.
