Assos apparel questions

I really liked the Mille Winter & Ultraz jackets, however, they’re just too tight on my arms. Didn’t find the body baggie at all, a very aero cut IMO. Much like the Castelli Idro Pro fit.

I’ve ordered a second Mille Evo jacket, Habu tights, Campionissimo bibs and 2.4 SkiNFoil.
Also bought the new NeckPorte.

Safe to say the wife will not be seeing the credit card statement this month!

yeah, the deals are great..although tights are not available in my size. before finding out the differences between the Habu and Habu Mille tights...i have one of each and like the regular Habu better. they look similar with the exception of the small type that states Mille under the Habu logo on the back straps. oh well.

BTW, how's the recovery going? i just bought another Campionissimo S7 from the outlet store. couldn't pass it up like others here.

My T-centos were hacked off by the ambulance crew, leaving me rather naked I might add. Will Assos cover those. Lol.

Yeah good thanks. Been back at work 4 weeks now. Not really much pain either, so all good. Been riding about 200+km a week so far. Just off out now for a century.
Yes those deals are awesome. My last order of Assos stuff from Pushys is still boxed up. Got way to much now but I just can't resist a bargin.

what's your take on the Habu and the Habu Mille tights?
the Mille version seems like a different size but I suppose its because its a more relaxed fit?

edit: I didn't even know I had the Mille version because the type is small and looks similar. I saw your previous reply on pg 20...so not necessary to repeat.

To reiterate, both have their place. I would wear the HabuMilles in 5-10° and the Habu’s from 5° down.

The Habu’s are of a much more complex construction and have the waffle and fleece type materials, opposed to the cheaper HabuMilles which just have the single layer fleece type material.

Took my new champissimo bibs for short spin... All good until I ate asphalt due to some oil left by some trucks.. Front washed out faster than I can say "*f##k*".

Skin lost on fingers, arm, hip, leg..sore hips and ribs.
Bike is good except for hood and maybe Handlebar.
Ripped a bit of my jersey, shoes and somehow no rips on the new Bibs! Just abrasions.. But still good to go.

I bought 2x iJ Bonka jackets, and have ended up returning them.

They get good reviews everywhere, but honestly I felt my Castelli Alpha ROS Jacket is way softer to wear, likely just as warm and actually has a DWR. The Bonka felt "crinkly".

Maybe it's just me. I love Assos skinfoils, arm/leg warmers, headgear... but have not really liked their jerseys, jackets or bibs.

hello I've just bought on a "Craiglist alike" here in France a very nice pair of Assos Fugu LL S7 Campionissimo Bibs, really a great piece of kit, lots of engineering, with different materials, shapes. Paid well under half the price on these new bibs (were 430€ RRP back in the days), allegedly worn 3 times by the previous owner. Yet i'ts hard to find any review on the net since they were sold in the early 201x.
Do you know what is the closest actual model in the Assos Range? Bonka? Were rated "Winter Plus" but no mention of this range on their website now...

The LL.Fugu.7 was an augmented LL.716.6/LL.Bonka.6 (The 716 became the Bonka to make the naming easier to understand, haha). It had heavier materials in the legs and an integrated vest.
Fugu was climarange 7/7 (which explains the .7 in the name you see...), i.e. very cold indeed. I remember the Fugu jacket, which a lot people bought here in Norway, it almost did not breathe they said. I normally use the now discontinued Bonka Cento jacket (climarange 6/7 and later 4/4) with the Sturmprinz as a shell if its super cold, or I put a Falkenzahn gilet between the winter skinfoil and the Bonka Cento jacket.

Looking to replace my old (and somewhat crash damaged) IJ.Habu.5 jacket. The Mille GT Winter Jacket (Non-Ultras) might be it.
Have any done a fit comparison of the two? I need generous arm lengths on my cycling jackets. My gorilla factor is extreme.

I have both and just tried the Mille GT Jacket for the first time this past weekend. I found the Mille GT a bit tighter around the chest/arms area when standing normal but once riding on the hoods/drops it's fine. Definitely tighter, so if you have 'big' arms/shoulders maybe try one size up.

I wear the Habu with the 'early winter LS skinfoil' and the 'winter LS skinfoil' with the Mille GT jacket. All of my Assos apparel are size I/M and fit snug but not tight that I can't move freely while riding.

Never tried the Bonka but from what I've read in this forum, I would say Yes, it would be in between Habu and Bonka. I guess it would also depend on which skinfoil you wear.

Just feeling the material of both with my fingers, the Mille GT has 'more fleece like material' in the chest/arm area so I would assume it would be warmer and block the wind better.

Hmmm... I have the IJ.Habu.5 jacket and really have to say it’s my favorite and most versatile bit of kit. So they don’t really have anything that’s the equivalent now? I don’t really want anymore “fleece” in it as I think it’s the perfect jacket for putting different layers underneath for any particular day. It’s funny you post this today because as I wore the jacket yesterday and, probably due to having followed this thread, I wondered what the hell the “IJ” in the name is supposed to mean. Lol. Anyway, still my favorite piece of Assos kit.
