The latter is from a discontinued casual wear line.

The sleeve material on the Targa Aerojacket doesn’t look different to me.

Assos Equipe RS9 bibs, washed 7 times at 30 dec celsius in a delicate bag. Happen to anyone else before?
I am a little bit dissapointed, my 5 years olds Castelli bibs do not want to give up at all aftet 200+ washing cycles and 10k km. :noidea:

I'd make a warranty claim on that.

Had exacly the same issue as in the first photo with my Santini Adapt bib tights (they have a very similar band at the bottom as these). Santini has replaced them twice under warranty, but it happened again after 2-3 washes. I'm keeping the second warranty replacement, but of course it's much less of a problem with bib tights around the ankles than it would be with bib shorts

Current warranty at Assos sucks. Taking after insurance companies...they deny, deny, deny.

I tried to make a claim...said I was out of the warranty window even though I had my papers on purchase, etc.
Makes me want to ween off of Assos.

^ by comparison, I had a pair of Pactimo bibs that had marginal leg grippers - just not tacky enough to prevent the legs from riding up. 8 months later, they agreed to replace them, no problem. Since then, I buy them with the long cuffs and no problems.

Most other apparel makers are better at their warranty. Alot even warranty out of their warranty time line. I had a crash and ripped a Rapha jersey, it was out of the warranty period and yet, they replaced it for free. Also from Rapha, I had a tear on a jersey, snapped a pic and sent it to them. They recommended me sending it in for repair. Just got an email from the repair center...its on its way back. So yeah, most are much better than sticking to a 90 day window and alienating a long-time customer.

I've been a very long time buyer of Assos and not had any issue with a product apart from some winter gloves many years ago and they were replaced. But 90 days warranty is terrible. What are they saying that there's a likelihood that they're going to have worn out in that time? That stitching (or glue whatever they use on seams) is starting to fall apart beyond that date? I've got Assos bibs that are 10 years plus old, the seats are still super comfy, they've gone through hundreds of washes and they're only wearing out because of the material starting to wear through in tiny places. Otherwise they've been amazing. As a result I've not needed to buy bib shorts for 5 years or so now so is this the quality that Assos have now reached they can't guarantee they'll last beyond a few months? Assos used to be the benchmark for fit, design, comfort, quality and of course you paid the price for that. The price may often have been double the nearest competitor but they lasted 3 or 4 times longer so were more than worth it. Have things changed in recent years?

Interesting… it looks like it’s more cosmetic as you mentioned..
It seems Assos is going the prof black way in a V2 when it has a garment without big changes
Besides it fails to offer fall/winter garments with brighter colors.. I like and I have both yellow SS and LS 2/3 jersey/jacket.. black looks sleek but I don’t know.. they could have done something in this regard
The prof black 2/3 Equip RS jacket is nice, but I have to say I prefer the original one with the yellow accents and the Assos ppattern on the shoulder blades. I hope they keep offering both options. I actually thought the 3/3 Equip RS jacket was a bit too boring and hoped that it would be more in style of the original 2/3 Equip RS jacket....

Did anyone see by the way the new official Assos Team Qhubeka Jersey? I really like it, but it's 250 euros..... Ouch

I've been long time diehard Assos' fan as well. But since buying Q36.5 bibs a month I have to admit my love has ended. Q's bib are way comfier, I don't get scuffed by the chamois as often happens with assos since they introduced S7, compression on legs is mich better. Where they lag behind assos is "grip" over the ass, there Assos' A lock really excels. But that's about it.

And I also had bad experience woth their warranty policy. Bonka toghts started peeling under chamois but they were not interested to help out. On the other hand some uears ago I tore sturmprinz jacket on the back and their repair service did a vey good job, I am still using that jacket today.

Totally agree with you..
It’s nice.. for me it’s more the BMC big logo.. riding a specialized it’s a no-no lol

In my experience they have always been on point. I have to say when I need something in this regard I visit the Lugano shop as it’s just 1h30 from where I live

Yeah, things did change. I had 1 yr old bibs warranties before. But just last June, I tried to warranty some bib shorts that were 5 months old…I had to present receipts and pictures and got denied. Their customer service used to be okay to good, but now, total useless.

It’s something to consider before investing in their gear. I haven’t tried the Q stuff yet since not readily available except online.

Yeah, things have changed. I've been using Assos gear for some time as well, back to the orange pads. They were great back then and for some time now, but the last two years, I have had warranty issues with them. I show receipts and the damage to the bib shorts...and they got back to me saying that my warranty has expired by 10 days. I have had bib shorts warrantied within a year...and the last time I did that was when they had the turquoise pads. These days...its not the same and things have changed.

I had a great experience with them.

My bibs seams started to come apart after nearly 2 years. Sent them to Switzerland from Australia FOC and a new pair were sent to me within 8 weeks.

No complaints from me. They even offered a 50% discount on another pair whilst this process was under way which I jumped at.
