Your current knickers are equally warm all over, calnago, or do you have that since long discontinued tK.434_s5?

Yeah, I know... but when I wear the knickers I know the weather and I know I’m going to be just fine the entire ride/day in them. The time where I’d want the warmer knee warmers to be removed later is if I’m starting in quite cold weather but I know it’s going to get really hot quickly. That’s not the climate I’m in but I’ve certainly ridden in those climates, like the high desert, where temps would be below freezing at night then get up to 100F or so during the day.
And yeah, I’ve had/have the older knickers too. But for knickers I want the added warmth all over. Some of my favorite knickers were a pair I had made by Ibex (now our of business) made of Smartwool.
But for bib shorts, no, I don’t want the added warmth, if I’m ever going to be riding with them in warm conditions, and if it’s shorts weather, it’s warm conditions. Really depends on the climate you ride in. I certainly have knee warmers, leg warmers (never wear them), but generally I’ll always reach for the knickers if it’s that kind of day. Takes a long time to really figure out what works for you in different conditions. Lots of trial and error and everyone is different.
Here’s my current knickers that I complain about being a bit too short and end up being uncomfortable behind the knee.... but I love everything else about them. They probably have s number attached to them to but it doesn’t say it anywhere on the knickers themselves, always confusing...


And here’s where cycling stuff is always drying, ready to be sorted through while I decide what to wear...

Oh, and that damn cat. Always that damn cat. He has a good life.

Those are tiburuknickers are S7, and I agree, they made them too short. Another reason for me not getting a pair but stick to Tiburushorts and knee or leg warmers.

I like knickers that come down mid calf, not just covering your knees like these do. That’s one of the reasons I really liked the Ibex. They weren’t even that expensive. The smartwool is good for a wide range of temps and they were super durable. I’ve still got them actually but they are getting kind of worn out.
And I’m not sure how tomorrow being Sunday will change the damn cat situation. It will be the same scenario, as it is every day.

I’ve mentioned earlier that you could call him Fine Cat on Sundays. Maybe Damn Fine Cat will do.

I like the revised Assos knee warmers, made to protect the calf muscles on request by the BMC team.

Ah, i see now. Ok. He is a Damn Fine Cat. Every day of the week.
So the BMC team wanted calf coverage too. Perhaps I’ll give them a shot this fall. I just hope that in order to cover my calves, they don’t leave a gap between the short shorts and the tops of the warmers, cuz that is definitely not a good look. And I wonder with the “raw” cut edges how well the knee/leg warmers will stay put. Or will they slide down.

Neither is a problem. They are long enough. Just get the right size.

What exact model name and number should I be looking out for in these new “revised” knee warmers that will simultaneously fit under my shorts far enough to keep from having the “gap”, and cover mid calf as well?
I find that with Assos, if you search for stuff you can find last years, this years, four years ago models, etc. and with the names the way they are it can be hard to know if you’re getting the most current stuff.

Thank you! May pick some of those up. Now since it's not just a bunch of old cyclists on the internet asking for longer, why can't Assos make their kickers the same amount longer as well. 7cm is not insignifcant. I'd be happy with that. And for the same reasons BMC racing wanted longer knee warmers, I would like longer knickers of the same length. The public is a lot larger market than the BMC pro team. Make 'em, and they will buy.

I don't disagree. I always found the Assos knickers too short, my TK.607_S5 included. That's partly why I prefer warm shorts and knee warmers (or leg warmers). The other reason is that I'm very long legged so I need thights size L so not to end up like Edwig van Hooydonk, but size L is just to wide for me.
Anyway: The knickers problem is now solved, as they omly make them in the Mille series which I dont like, and as long as they still make the Habuthights without pad I can pull a pair over knee or leg warmers and warm shorts if it's that cold. That cold, Ultraz cold, does happen in my parts.

How would you weigh the S7 Centro Vs the S9 Equipe RS? The S7's are $50 more, but which would be more comfortable during a 70 mile road race?

I just got some of the S9 RS bibs (I think) on Friday. Still undecided if I’m keeping them or not. Kinda seems like I’m jumping into some hip waders or fireman’s pants with the suspender type straps. And I’m not at all sure I like those straps attached half way down my ass below the jersey line. I’ll try them on again. Seems maybe Assos has altered their sizing yet again?? Does the current stuff seem a bit bigger/looser. I’d like to think I’ve just gotten more svelte but I’m 100% sure that’s not the case.

Also got some of the longer knee warmers. Like the length but I was mistaken thinking I’d need a size II (they come in 0, I, and II sizes). So need to get the I’s instead.
