mendiz wrote:@Matte86 What chest and waist in cms and height do you have? I want to buy Alleycat too
I have a 91cm chest and 79,5cm for waist, for reference a size S for Assos is chest 92 waist 75-80
I don’t have this specific number, but in n general with Assos the length of the sleeves is always a touch too much
Thx Matte86…
I have the M but really should’ve went with the S. Not sure if it’s vanity sizing but seems as though most sizing has increased in volume. The alleycat should be more snug as you have alluded to and should’ve gone done in size on the Equipe RS EVO rain jacket as well. If I did, I wouldn’t be able to wear it in the winter for added winter protection whereas the alleycat wouldn’t help as much and is a better summer/spring/fall shell.
Well I still think it depends a lot on which garments you wear.. if for example I wear a ultraz base layer+ a bonka jacket, I am not sure I can fit in a size S alleycat.. when I went to the Assos Lugano shop I tried the alleycat in both sizes and they specifically mentioned it.. if you want to use it in winter I’d have sized up, but as I’ve already bought the evo in M, I went so a S..
Makes sense to me. The alleycat is a great thin and packable shell for fall/spring/summer so a S would be best for me as well. Anything over a Bonka jacket and wool base layer...the Equipe RS shell would make sense in M regardless if you have a Bonka in S or M. The sheer bulk...a M Equipe RS would be good.

The last pair of socks I bought from Assos was the Bonka ones that were for winter. I use them for fall/spring and sometimes early winter with overshoes.

I am interested in the liner gloves...which I could use under a pair of windproof winter gloves.
If you can try the inner gloves before buying it.. I have them and I can’t make them fit to nothing I have either 2/3 and 3/3 gloves as everything gets too tight and there’s no enough blood circulation
I have a S for all 3…
I see.. thanks for the input on winter socks.. maybe that’s why I keep looking for something new.. probably I bought in the Ultraz label.. I found them comfortably though
Which deep winter socks are you going to use this year?
I'm using Merino wool socks...from thin to thick. Like Kjetil, I like the fugusock of old with Merino wool. Seems to be the thickess and most warm to me. Still looking for a replacement as my fugusocks are close to the way out (worn).

That sounds odd @darrydonds. I have used Assos bib tights for years and years, mostly the cheaper models, but I have never had any issues with the seams breaking. Are you sure the size of the bibs is correct? Have you taken care not to rip the stiching while putting the bibs on?
The bib fits okay. I didn't do anything differently than with any of my other bibs when putting it on. I always make sure to not pull from the top when putting it on, only a gentle pull afterwards to adjust the fit. I was surprised to see the hole. Maybe it was just a one-off and bad luck. I was able to make an exchange at the store. Hope the new one last longer.

I have those leg warmers and I’m pretty happy with them. For me they stay on well with various bib shorts (none of them from Assos) Maybe you got the wrong size??
Not sure if we are talking about the same product. I don't see it on Assos' website. (Ironically, the ones on their website now all have the more common round opening.) Mine is this version:

Maybe I have too skinny thighs  The warmers hold firm at the calves though. But still, I'm convinced a more common round opening would have offered more grip.

Yes, we are talking about the same ones. They new ones are made from a lighter/thinner material. These ones were made from the material that is now used in the RS Leg Warmers (the ones with the zipper)

@Pabloldv I guess you are from Spain too, I have RS leg warmers , do you notice the difference between RS leg warmers and these? Thinking to buy Leg foil too. Anyone with Spring gloves could do a pic of interior of the glove?
@kode54 the first buy with Xbionic is very expensive haha, happens like with Assos, I thought last year only 4 bibs RS S9 and now I have or going to have 1/2 collection

yes, I’m from Spain. I don’t have the RS leg warmers to compare.

Thanks @ico, @kode54 and @Matte86. Someone has used Spring fall liner gloves like outer gloves? I hate padded gloves . I guess if they are durable using like normal gloves.
Yep, I got the Assos Spring/Fall Liner Gloves (newest model) and been using them in 7-11C range. Works perfect perfectly. Its a bit too cold for short fingers and not cold enough for full winter. These fit perfectly and they are a bit longer so you can fit them under your jacket sleeve. I really like them.
Just got a pair of the Spring/Fall liner gloves. Interesting and unlike other liners. They are one piece and knitted like socks with no seams. The opening seems like its laser cut and slightly fraying which doesn't bother me...its a tight weave and looks double lined...black outside, white inside. I plan to use them with other gloves for warmth.

Ye one piece design which is the best, no seams that are gonna be interating and a bit longer to put under your longsleeve. They work perfectly imo if you get the right size. The size chart is spot on for me. Haven't tested them as a liner with winter gloves as the lowest I used them was like 6-7C. And that was completely fine with just the liner.

Kjetil wrote:^I meant the Fugusocks.

Of the Assos socks have and have had I like(d):
Fugusocks
Wintersocks 3/3
Bonkasocks
Spring/fall socks 2/3
Yankeesocks (excellent lenght summer socks. See photo below)

Not liked so much:
Habus socks s7 (too short, insufficient overlap with tights and leg warmers for me)
Intermediatesocks s7 (made me sweat)
RS summer socks (1st. gen. Too short)

Thanks!
For summer socks I’ve been using the RSR ones.. comfy but they started to have some wrinkles at upper part
I’d keen to try the new Silca winter socks.. they look promising
I’ve been eyeing the Spatz over shoes as well, but I’m worried they make me sweat like the 3/3 winter bibs with their neoprene part

^Leg warmers. I have the ones in darrydons picture, size I. Perfect for my looong skinny legs (pictured, I sit at 81 cm).
The upside of the shape is that you get excellent conerage high up on the outside. The downside is that they have to go under the shorts. So: Not something to bring along for sudden crap weather on top of l'Iseran, where you'd want some zippered ones with a traditional top opening for fast dressing, like the RS leg warmers. They make your Tiburu or T23RS shorts into tights. Excellent for that purpose.

Right, they have to go under the shorts, which reduces their versatility. Does coverage of the hips really make a big difference? Never felt cold there.

Fair enough and true.. but when (if I remember correctly) I bought the RS leg warmers, there weren’t any 2/3 tights..
Besides if I put the zips over the socks/over shoes they don’t fully zip, if I put them inside I can feel some ‘zip wrinkles’, if I put them high enough to close the zip they chafe..

^My hip joints and muscles need all the help they can get. I'm always the last to put the Tiburu/T23RS shorts in summer hibernation. YMMV and all that, I don't need much on my hands and feet.
