Assos not even close to Ibis' catchy "Hakkalugi".
Go on. I’ll bite.
How would you name products? What system would you use?
Name products after famous cyclists or races.
Riders: Cancellara, Van Avermaet (both worn Assos in the past)

I was just suggesting that their model names might not mean anything at all to a broader market.
BUT, with the letters re-arranged, eiSeNHerz could be "Sein Herze", roughly translating to "be heartful."
And with all due respect, what I'd do matters not.
Assos has been at this a long, long time.

Nope, works fine for me. However, swissiconic.com seems to have gone belly up (at least the domain has). Strange as I just bought some Assos stuff from them last week (and received it)

I would have expected Assos to have « technical names ». Like Mercedes or BMW or Audi. Assos Winter, Fall, Summer, Spring and rain lines. And then the technical level Pro, Expert, etc....

I'm thinking of trying the Campionissimo S7 bib shorts. Can anyone give a length comparison with the Rapha Pro Team shorts? Overall I'm guessing the Assos bibs will be of a much better quality?

I bought one Rapha Pro Team bib 2 years ago to test it and the difference between the Rapha and the Assos S7 (Equipe) is huge.
And look at the thread concerning the quality of the Rapha products....It seems that the quality is even worse now...

Yeah I agree, I've moved on from Rapha to PNS and Maap. Just figured the Pro Team shorts are popular so people would be able to chime in regarding the length, I'm not a big fan of the old-school short bibs.

This is an interesting idea. But what happens if they get a doping violation?
Naming items after races - does that mean that the items are aimed at the conditions of that particular race?

Assos has been at this a long, long time.
There are product names in a product matrix (eg. Mille GT Spring / Fall Jersey, Mille GT Spring / Fall Jacket) and some products have names the R&D department referred to them as in the development phase. Within this thread, there are detractors on each approach.
To whoever mentioned cars - car names only really work because of the ubiquity of cars, and because they put the name on the back of them. The investment that people make in cars means that they research and comprehend the ranges, and the advertising they do also helps. There are people gushing about a car being special in almost every social group. That is rare about cycling jackets. But naming still is rarely born in a logical place, but develop over time. The number of different models a car manufacturer makes too is far fewer than a clothing brand, which makes it easier to navigate.

HaSHoogi always reminds me of that poor jounalist who recently got eliminated at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. RIP. Maybe not the best connotation for a cycling apparel.

In my opinion just having 3 “seasons” is one less than necessary. You get the “Ultraz “ tail on cold winter garments. 4/4 Cold Winter would be clearer than the current 3/3 Winter Ultraz.
But naming a garment Mille GT Jacket Winter Ultraz is fine by me since they also shorten it to Eisenherz for me and others who’ve been around a while. Good thing to throw the water out but not the baby.

What bib size for a tall thin guy? I'm 190cm/6'2.5", 79kg/173lbs, with an 81cm/32in waist. I know M would probably fit me the best in the bottoms area (maybe even a small for extra compression), but I'm tall and bibs never seem to be fit me well with the straps on. Everything just gets pulled way up, like wedgie style. I'm looking at the RS and RSR S9 bibs.

With Assos you should go more on height. I’m 6’ and wear large in every Assos bib across maybe 8 pairs over the years. You would probably be large given the low weight but XL wouldn’t be out of the question. I have the rsr s9 which is the best bib I have ever worn and it’s a large.
