I am confused. You say that ASSOS stuff lasts loads longer than other brands, but that ASSOS seems over-priced. Was this a typo? Buying a jacket for 250USD which lasts two seasons is 125 USD per season. Buying a jackeet for 250 USD which lasts 10 years is 25 USD per season.maquisard wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 7:03 pmI own both Castelli and Assos, to be honest in the past few years I have bought more Castelli as Assos seems over-priced now.
In terms of quality Castelli is nowhere close to Assos. After a couple of seasons Castelli stuff is falling apart, particularly the shorts. I have Assos shorts from five years ago that are still fine to wear. The Castelli equivalent are see-through and with failing stitching. The same is true of the jackets, I have two 10 years old (!!!) Assos 851 Air-blocks that have been washed many times but still keep their colour and stitching. I have two Gabba/Perfectto jackets that are falling apart after two seasons.
I like the style of the Castelli stuff, but the quality is pretty poor.
Assos apparel questions
It is true that Assos clothes last (this is one of the main reasons I love them) but there are other clothes that last too. Santini, for example, which are made in Italy, and not Bulgaria or Romania.
Assos, please, you don't need silly marketing like "Stavros", "lemon trees", and the "secret airport somewhere in the Balkans". Just keep on making high quality clothes.

Hi,
In the end of december, i have broken my left hip falling on icy road.
I expect to be back on my bike in april and I’m looking on the ASSOS T.RALLY S7 for more confidence and protection.
Do you think that it can be used on road bike ? Is it efficient or does it only prevent from scratches ?
By the way I was wearing an Assos long habu and it resisted better than my bones ! Not even a scratch

There are two options here, IMO. The T.Rally short will work well, with the protective inserts. The pad is designed for the more upright position when MTBing, but if you aren't going for the most aero position on the bike, it will work fine.
The other option is to get some of the Trail Boxers, which also take the protective hip inserts. In really icy conditions, I wear these under tights.
I hope you heal well.

Thanks. I love the low cut of my S7s, and I'm very happy that it continues with the S9s.
Double post.
Best bibs for pi$$ing in! Love my S7's for this.
My Equipe Evos have now been relegated to turbo training bibs with the arrival of my S9s.

i think the SkinFoils should come in both white in black versions for all 1-4 seasons. i tend to wear white base layers but some only come in black.RTW wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 9:21 amSummer base layers are now available in black or white.GaBa wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 8:06 am@RTW I’ve seen by now on many pics new base layers for summer, black version. Can we expect those for this season as well or is this just teasing and new base layers are coming in following season(s)? I remember ypu mentioned somewhere in this thread that base layers are dated hence new ones would make sense

there are also some padding foam you can buy for skiing/snowboarding or mtb. or just buy some high density foam and cut them to fit. the Assos pads are anatomically cut so they don't look bulging under tights...more like enhancing. hides alot better unless you shape the cut foam so it blends into the body.Bb13 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 9:44 amHi,

I have also used the Sturmprinz knickers to cut the wind chill over my Bonkatights. works extremely well even in 16F temps.
I wear the Equipe RS rain jacket over the Bonka jacket to trim some of the windchill on top. Because it has a nice reflective stripe down the back, its nice to have the extra visibility in the wee hours of the morning.

I’d size down from the Mille. I found them noticeably looser fitting for the same size vs Equipe Evo’s
I’d actually stay the same size. I’ve had the Campionissimo, the Mille, the eco equipe, and a bunch of others and have found that the same size in all works best. The Campionissimo were a more “compressive” fit for sure. But sizing down... would just make the length even shorter than it already is.
What I want it know is that model’s measurements in the picture above. Is he super short or something. The shorts on that guy look almost too long. He must have super short femurs. Somewhere along the way, I’m gonna get it jussst right. I used the Equipe Evo’s that I got last year on the trainer yesterday and even though they’re shorter than the older length, I suppose they are just fine. I can live with them. But the shorts on that guy with all the tattoos earlier in the thread, those are ridiculously short.
And I did go on the Assos website looking at the new stuff. Nomenclature seems as confusing as ever. I’ll go back with a clear head and time to figure it all out.
