I rode with the new Ultraz jacket and Habutights for the first time last weekend. It was coldish here, around 5c and a 15mph wind upped the windchill. I just wore the jacket with a Spring/Fall LS skinfoil and it was sublime. Waerm without being hot, slim fitting and no flapping. Absolutely stellar jacket. With a winter skinfoil it would be good for much lower temps.

The Habutights are absolutely superb. The same waffle pattern as the Tiburu shorts and 3/4 which I love and my legs were toasty throughout.

i thought you were referring to bottoms, not jackets. haha. and now, you're talking about shorts.

@kode54: I write about jackets. Why do you quote me and write about tights? Confusion?

Over to Seoul, sort of:
In temperatures around freezing I use the Skinfoil 4.4 Winter with just my iJ.Bonka.6 jacket on top. For cloves the discontinued Fugugloves, and on my head the Fuguhelm.

Legs:

Winter 4.4 (new nomenclature 3/3 Ultra I gather) temperatures:
I have a LL.Milletights_S7 size L which I don't like much* so I prefer using it for shorter sorties.
Tiburushorts size M , legwarmers_Evo7 and an LL.Habu_S7 no insert size L on top for long sorties.

Winter 3.4 (or the new 3/3 without ultra):
That Tiburushorts or it's predecessor T.607_5 and Legwarmers (I have both the older thicker (S5?) and the current single layer water repellent Evo7 versions)
Équipeshorts plus the LL.Habu_S7.

*I have considered buying an LL.Bonkatights_s7 in size M with size L leg lenght. It would hopefully fit properly. Also It would not squeeze my genitals away, but give them a nice place to rest.

i like the Habu tights as well. Although, I didn't care for the HabuMille tights.

interested in the Ultraz jacket. but if its too similar to the Bonka one...i may just wait until they upgrade the Bonka with NEOS fabric.

The Mille GT Ultraz Winter Jacket looks quite nice, but I cannot see that it offers much of a practical upgrade from my iJ.BonkaCento.6.
My Bonka jacket already has wind and water proofing in the same places as the Ultraz. It's RXQ back breathes better than the Ultraz' RX. It also has two zippered pockets in addition to three normal ones. This weighs up the "triple ramp" on the three Ultraz pockets quite nicely.

Still considering the Mille GT WJ (non-Ultraz) as a replacement for my early iJ.Habu.5, which is so old that it has only one unzippered pocket and two large zippered ones. I never liked that pocket arrangement.

If I had a Bonka I wouldn’t change to an Ultraz.

I’ve only really started building full Assos outfits this year having loved their shorts for a few years.

I’ve found some really good prices on ASSOS lately at Merlin in the UK - bought a load of stuff there. Not sure if it is black friday related

Where do you see the "IJ.INTERMEDIATE_S7" jacket compared to the "IJ.TIBURUJACKET_EVO7"?

The same but different.
Both are spring/fall.
Intermediate uses wind block on chest, a little warmth on the sleeve outsides and summer textiles for the rest.
Tiburu is more traditional, with no wind block but heavier textiles: RX on chest and sleeve outsides and RXQ on the rest.

Same here, I just started switching over to Assos from Castelli.

It's Black Friday and just ordered the Ultraz jacket along with other accessories...Geez this is almost as bad as "n+1" for bikes!

I'm starting to build my Assos collection and today I received two pairs of the Assos LL.Mille s7 Tights. Oh My the fit is absolutely perfect. No bunching anywhere and I feel like I'm wearing a pair of pajamas. I'm 170cm tall and 62kg, and I got the size medium. I previously owned Castelli bib tights. What I found with the Castelli is that it's too tall and not wide enough at the ankle. So I had to get size L with the Castelli so that my ankle and calf don't get constricted, but it ends up being way too long. The Assos has no such fit issue. The Castelli seems to be cut for a cyclist with a body shape like Roman Bardet's.

The only thing I find which is unusual on the Mille S7 tights is that the fabric is very thick and heavy, compared to the Castellis I own. I'm new to Assos tights. I assume that on the more expensive Assos (Bonka and Habu) a lighter weight fabric is used without sacraficing warmth?

Anyhow I haven't worn my new tights outdoors but I can hardly wait to try them on the bike.

Correct.

Question to those of you new ro ASSOS - is it a brand you've been aware of, or totally new to you? What brought it to your attention?

Aware of for a very long time - and was out of budget for an equally long time.

Tried the shorts when th S7 Equipe came out and loved them. So it built from there.

I've been aware of Assos for a few years but always thought it was expensive compared others (e.g. the Castelli Rosa Corsa line which I have). I've read online about how great the Assos chamois is so I was always curious. The thing that hooked me was the ALS, specifically with the skinfoils. I felt really comfortable wearing the various jackets with the appropriate skinfoils. Now I'm saving up for the tights...
