Yes it is kinda noisy at those granny gears (23 to 28). What range of the DA cassette you used?

I used DA 9000 11-28 - same as my XG-1190

update : using DA 9000 cassette and chain for a couple of rides it runs much smoother and the noise issues isappeared. In my case I found this combination working better compared to sram chain/cassette.

Mini groupset back on ebay. Ad says more than 10 available for $1660. Not the cheapest, but not a total rip off for those that dont want to wait.

That's list price.

Interestingly, Trek is getting $1650 as an upgrade from Red 22 to eTap. It's the same cost as going from Dura Ace to Di2.

Personally, i'd get Red 22 mechanical, but the mini-group for $1660 (or less) then sell the mechanical bits...... that's what i did, just a year apart. My eTap upgrade cost less than $100 net.

Shucks, eTap only can transmit gear data to Garmin Edge 520 or 1000

It seems Garmin are not developing older units (800,810,510) - Its also a selling fearure for them to keep all new features in their latest models.
I wail for this FW to check its capabilities... :-)

Gear information is working on my Wahoo ELEMNT. It takes 1-2 seconds to register a shift but it works. I don't seem to have an etap battery monitor option though.

Makes sense as Edge 510 was released 3+ years ago. We spend ton of money on upgrades and $300 isn't that much in today's day and age, although I'm still using trustworthy Edge 500. Edge 520 does offer some cool features.

First time out on my etap today, and I'm really impressed. Shifting is near silent, smooth, and precise. Not one issue shifting at all, other that hitting the wrong paddle once. Small ring to the big ring under load with no issues at all. So far, pretty thrilled with this upgrade coming from 10-sp Red mech.

I am looking for the upgrade kit. Does anyone know where to buy it in Germany?

Question: I ride a Tarmac with Campy record groupset. To run the Campy groupset I pressed a C-Bear adapter in the bottom bracket. When moving to SRam Etap should I remove the C-Bear adapter a go for Sram BB30 Crankset or shall I continue the C-Bear adapter and put on Sram ITA bearings and a Sram GXP crankset. BB30 is lighter but GXP construction will be more problem free I quess?
Specialized Tarmac S-works SL7 (Satin carbon spectraflair tint)
Specialized Tarmac S-works SL6 (Green Cameleon)
Specialized Tarmac Pro SL6 Disc (Blue/Teal Sram Force AXS)
Specialized Epic Elite 29

If you choose BB30 red crank remove campy caps and you are ready to go.
In case you choose GXP red crank you shoukd remove campy caps and install sram GXP caps or you can install Shimano caps and use one single 24 to 22mm spacer in the non drivers side.

GXP = compatibility with all BB 's
BB30 = lighter

in both types stifness is equal. I choose GXP but the weight penalty with caps + crank is approx 100 grams
