I'm planning to purchase a BMC SLR02 and fit my existing Centaur groupset (currently fitted to an '09 Scott CR1). The BMC comes with 105 fitted.

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of parts required to fit the crankset? The BB bearings have had a fair bit of use so really I'd like to refresh the lot.

So does that replace the standard screw-in cups and use regular bearings?

from how i read it, the pf86 is like a bb30 shell but with nylon cups (ala pf30) and bearings to fit a standard 24mm axle (HT2).

These adaptors press in and enable the use of the campag pt bearings which are on your cranks , not in a cartridge type bottom bracket.

What's confusing me is if this adapter is just a replacement for the cups or if it includes a bearing? Power Torque uses a cartridge bearing so do I need to replace that as well as purchasing this adapter?

For a threaded bottom bracket Campagnolo sell the cups alone. Bearings come on the crankset.
Same for BB86. Buy these press in 'cups'. Bearings are on your crankset.
If you need new bearings you need to buy new bearings.

PS. I have an SLR02 (the red/black that comes with 105). I put a Red group on it. Excellent frameset. Almost on par with my Parlee Z5 for much less cost. The only thing you give up is 200grams.

if the frame has a BB86 BBshell then Jekyll's suggestion is probably the only option. Suggest you confirm this first, as all advise is dependent on this. BB86 is a pressfit system.

Several misunderstandings here about a PT crankset.

The DS bearing is pressed onto the crank spindle.

The NDS bearing sits in a cup. So with that kit, only the NDS bearing is provided.

Check the DS bearing after the crank is removed. It may well be fine.

That was my thinking. Always wanted an SLR but can't justify the 01!

Are you going to tell Taylor Phinney (same height as me) that his 58cm GF01 is wrong too? I'll continue riding what's comfortable for my body shape, thanks. In the case of the SLR, the 60 has the same length TT as the Scott and is the biggest size they do.
