Chainring compatibility question

Hi all, I'm building up a Look 695 currently, have dura ace 9000 on it with Look Zed 2 crank, but need to buy some chainrings. I understand that the 11 speed dura ace setup means there can be shifting issues unless I get 11 speed chainring - I was thinking of buying the following: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stronglight-Chainring-Ceramic-Shimano-Compatible/dp/B007W0GEEW/ref=sr_1_4?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1372270989&sr=1-4&keywords=stronglight+chainrings but have no experience of this, and grateful for feedback, and any specific recommendations? many thanks for any help, Tom

It will not work properly without 11 speed chainrings. Stronglight chainrings in my experience though are good and should get the job done. You could try TA-Specialities though.

Thanks for the recommendation - I see that TA do one specifically for Look crankset so will go for this http://www.moilutin-cycles.com/857-plateaux-zenith-pedalier-zed-et-zed-2

I'm going for a 12-28 cassette, do you know what the recommended chainring combination would be?

Thanks again, Tom

If you are going with a 12-28, I would go with standard size chainrings. But if you plan to do serious climbing, are not in shape, or need to spin as fast as wiggins. I would then go with compact being 50,34 or semi compact 52,36. Personally I would take the semi compact option

Thanks Lucas, I'll go for semi compact, top line speed is rarely holding me back

Been wondering the other way around -- do Look chainrings fit on regular 110BCD cranks? I'm a bit after a "does not match" look.
It seems that the BCD pattern would match -- right?, but I'm wondering about the bolts, since Look requires proprietary ones.

Can also get the praxis rings made for Look. They work with Campy 11 at least. I can sell you 52/36 if interested (almost new). Shown here with SRAM 10, but it's been set up with 11. Don't mind my thumb in the upper left! Image
