Best adapter BB30 for Campy UT

Make sure you get the correct ones for your frame PF30 is different than BB30,

If it's PF30 wait for these to be in stock here

I think the official campy ones don't go deep enough in the BB. There are miles of threads about the cups moving, you have to special order Loctite and the matching activator at minimum. Not sure about the wheelsmfg ones they are kinda new and I haven't seen any reviews, but 2 more bearing are two more "things" to fail, add extra weight and it just doesn't feel like"right way" to solve this issue.

I bleed campy, and hate to say it but I think getting the hollowgram crank is the "right way" and if you have the $$$ and are ok with the limited life span THM M3 Modular Crank is really were it's at.

On page 10 is what I hope is coming soon and is hopefully a good solution .... but not the lightest - defeats the purpose of using press fit and BB30 cranks

That thread relates to PF30 problems. Don't confuse the 2. Most problems i have read about relate to PF30 or BBRight issues with Campy adapters.

If OP has a BB30 shell, I'd suggest he starts with Campy's BB30 adapters which have worked perfectly for me for several years. Mine were pressed in dry to a Cannondale SS frame in late 2010 and haven't been any problem. I'm 190-200 lbs and am using 180mm cranks, so if they were going to move I think they'd have done so by now.

Likewise, standard Campag cups pressed into my BB30 CAAD8 for 3+ years with no issues at all.

Condor's people say the same: campy adapter is too shallow. But I haven't heard of any problems with it.
I don't know what for these additonal bearings in Wheel's adapter are?
Difference in weight (claimed):
Campy - 72 g
Wheels - 48 g + 2x6806 bearings (Enduro ABEC 5 -24,6 g (capacity650), ceramic zerovv/hybrid abec5 -20,2 g) so total: 88,4 - 93,2 g.

I don't have an exact weight for the BB30 cups but have compared them to the BB86 cups. They are a lot beefier.
For reference standard external threaded cups are in the 45-52g range depending on year so the BB30s are probably in the high 30s.

OP I have told you that PF30 and BB30 are different, and then you quote Urquat who refers to PF30 issues.

If it's a BB30 BB shell on the frame you have, then 2 of us with actual experience have told you there should be no problem with Campy's BB30 adapter cups.

The cups weigh 26g each or 52g for a pair. Measured by me.

If it's a PF30 shell, then yes indeed I'd be trying a non-campy adapter. SRAM make a PF30 to BSA adapter that allows you to use the threaded Campy cups. You may need to run a 1 inch drill through it to ensure clearance for the Campy spindle although I see that this write-up says it's OK for Campy..

The additional bearings used in WheelsMfg adapters are basically to keep installation simple. The pair attached to the cranks are just along for the ride.
