Are bikes getting less aggressive in recent years?

I'm shopping for a new bike; it's been a couple of years.
My current ride is a FM066 (size 56), which has roughly the same geo as a 2016 SuperSix - Stack 557.5, Reach 394.
I'm comfortable on the bike (-6*, 110mm stem, no spacers).

The current Supersix, by contrast, is taller and shorter - Stack 574, Reach 390. Seems every bike I look at is in that ballpark.

Would I resolve this fit issue essentially by moving to a 120mm stem?

A 110mm -17deg stem coupled with 5mm in additional spacers would yield the closest match, but be ever so slightly shorter. Likewise, the 120mm stem would be noticeably longer.

Hello all,

I come to Germany and have a fitting question for you. I have very long legs and a short torso. I am 181cm tall and my inside leg length is 90cm.

Currently I ride a Cervelo S3 in 56 with 0mm offset post and 90mm stem. The saddle is very far forward on the post.

Now I want to switch to disc brake. I had only the Cervelo Caledonia in mind, however, the Geometry is almost identical to the S3. And since I have a shorter stem mounted and the saddle far forward, I think about whether that is optimal at all.

I have also looked at other models such as the Trek Domane, Canyon Endurace and Basso Astra.

Are there any experiences here with similar body dimensions?

Thanks in advance.

You may want to check with some local, experienced bikefitter, as you may need more upright position indeed. Having similar body dimensions (182/88cm), I ride a longer and lower bike (565+25mm stack, 393 reach) with 120mm stem and 25mm saddle seatback - and I would not call my position too extreme.

Said that, an endurance geometry bike is usually the way to go with long legs.

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out whether a Tarmac SL7 would be a better fit for me in a 49 or 52. So far I have managed to get the front end very similar to my previous bike, other than it being around 20mm shorter in the reach to the bars. I did want to reduce my previous bikes reach slightly, so seem to have achieved that but 20mm is probably a bit much.

I am thinking I could increase the reach to the hoods to be the same as my old bike by removing spacers from under the stem, which would give me the same reach as my old bike (according to my tape measure). However I'm trying to understand (but failing) whether removing a spacer below the stem will alter anything else such as the hip angle or anything else on top of extending the reach to the hoods slightly?

I'm not sure I've explained this very well but any advice would be much appreciated.
Thx

+30mm option. [see Geometry chart].
S or M size, depending on your arm length/reach.
S could require a longer seatpost.

May have to import if no local dealers.
Available as frameset.

There is a red older frame model complete M on Ebay in Germany.

Hi guys,

Between a 545 stack bike and a 562 stack bike. The difference would be a spacer of 17mm on the front?

You need to know stack, reach and HTA to find the exact number, but it will be more than 17mm. Stem length will also affect the bar stack/reach. If you use a 100mm -6deg stem instead of a 110mm -6deg stem, that will both lower the bar reach and bar stack as well. Best to get familiar with an app like www.bikegeocalc.com and compare the two sizes visually.

Almost but not really, as the HTA is not vertical (and stack is a vertical measurement). You lose only a tiny amount in height (due to the angle) of a spacer added (almost a rounding error), but what is significant is the movement in the horizontal plane - if memory serves me around a fourth to a third of the height added will be taken out of the reach.

I play a little with the page.

My case:
Bike 2 is my old bike and it was a good fit for me. I replicate the fit on the bike1. Look like it a good swap.

Hi guys. I'm about to buy a new Supersix Evo frame (2021). I currently own a Supersix Evo model 2013 size 52. I'm 1m70 (5'7"). Cannondale suggests a 48, but imo a 51 would be better. Any thoughts?

I'd say 51. I'm the same height as you and 48 frames feel small. C-dales have been running bigger and bigger over the years but 51 still works for me. If you want some dope seatpost exposure get a 48 tho lol

I should add that,if anyone's looking at a topstone carbon, those things are massive. size down. The pivot on the seat tube means they have to raise the top tube weee-high

Hi,
looking to get a new bike in 2022. Currently riding an Endurace CF SL Disc 8.0 Aero in Size S but with a 100mm stem instead of stock 90mm (Canyon shipped the bike with the wrong cockpit, but I think it worked out OK).
I'm looking for something slightly more agressive, not longer, but lower. Was thinking maybe the Cannondale Supersix EVO in could work?

I have long legs, short torso, but fairly long arms. Here are my measurements:

Size: 173-174 cm
Inseam: 83,5cm
Wingspan: 179cm

My bike has these measurements:
Size: S (ca. 54)
Reach: 376mm (+100mm stem)
Stack: 557mm
Crank Length: 170mm
Saddle heigth: 73cm (measured from center bottom bracket)
Saddle to bar drop: ca. 8cm

The Supersix EVO is slightly longer, but I'd be ok to switch to a 90mm stem to compensate. Could the Cannondale work or are there any options I could consider? Does anyone know what size stem the 51 Supersix EVO comes with?

Are there any experiences here with similar body dimensions?

Thanks in advance.
I was in the run for those bikes aswell. The caledonia 5 was a little bit too agressive but the integration with the spacers would be ok. In the end I went with the endurace cf sl with sram force when it was available 1 month ago. It was around €2000 euro cheaper and the test ride with the Caledonia 5, di2 was not as good, as I thaught it would be.I prefer sram after the testride and the internal cables isnt really worth the price hike
Its more than stiff enough and over the flemish roads it is a very nice bike to ride.( i just fly over cobbles now).
I am 183cm with 91cm inseam. If you have more questions ask away. I have 1 5mm spacer under the integrated stem and that headset top cap. Seat height is 801mm and 9cm of handlebardrop.
