Received my vbr-099 today. Glossy clearcoat over UD carbon. Craftsmanship looks good. Very minor imperfections in the paint. Headset bearings fit perfectly and the bottom bracket cups are 40.8mm as measured with a caliper.

Frame (size XS) is 1069g
Fork is 428g uncut
Seatpost is 235g (does anyone know a 0° alternative? Will a venge seatpost fit?)

Unlike my vbr-066, there are no internal cable stops or fittings for a mechanical derailleur so will have to run a housing all the way through.

I remade the little down tube cover from my 099.
Small weight loss but looks so much better when installed on the bike 😀

Flybike sent me what looks like a comprehensive weight table for FM906-D, except it's in Chinese. And the prices (kinda low):
FM906-D-SL:USD320(raw finish no including painting)
FO396:USD55(raw finish no including painting)
The fork is 420g±15g. So not much lighter than my FM-079/WCB-R-93 combo .
I just email them, and their MOQ is 30 set.....

Nice. Was meaning to do the same. Where did you get the carbon strip?

I buy 2mm thick carbon from aliexpress. Or just cut off some seatpost and use that. It's about 1.75mm thick

Does anyone have experience with velobuild and specifically vbr-177? Looks similar to an aethos, with integrated cables.

Has anyone done a vinyl wrap on one of these matte frames? I've had my FM066 for about three years, thinking about doing a vinyl wrap to change up the look a bit.

FYI. Velobuild will soon have an integrated cabling stem option for their integrated bikes. Should make things a lot easier. Chris says they're going to do 90/100/110/120mm, and maybe 80mm ... I hope they'll do 80mm.

I spoke with him two days ago and asked him if they had any plans for this . He said no.
I asked if there was any way to fit a regular bar and he said he couldn't help and maybe someone else has managed to do this.

I honestly don't really believe anything they say after my experience with them.

Well he sent me a render and said there weren't any photos yet as they were at the paint shop.

Sometimes there are misunderstandings due to language, I think.

I'm not so sure, I think he understands pretty well. Anyhow, if they have this available and it isn't made of cheese I'd be interested in having one.

Same situation hunting for a bar and spacer combo that fits with the vbr-99 since I opted not to go with their factory bar for sizing reasons. Chris is communicative, but unwilling to mix and match parts. Finding a bottom spacer that is the right size and shape to mate with their headset and align with an aftermarket bar and allow hidden cables hasn't been easy so far. I'm also looking for shorter reach and narrower 38cm bars. There's some decent options on AliExpress, but all will require some custom spacers/adjustments.

Open to suggestions.

This is now up on their site. No 80mm though.
