Hongfu FM-066/Chinese open mould frame thread

I know the FM066 has the perception of being a tried and true chinese frame, but it seems even now the most reputable manufactuers such as tantan and hongfu still can't make a round hole and their head tubes are ovalized which they will say is fine and it may not cause a catostrophic failure, but from an engineering standpoint I can't go that way.

Thinking of getting a Lightcarbon LCR007-v. Can anyone comment on those? Can they actually make round holes for the BB and head tube?

I own this frame and am perfectly fine with it for almost 2 years. Nove Bikes is selling it for ~2000 AUD. Nevertheless, I have not made any quantitative assessment on hole geometry. From the qualitative point of view, there are no issues at all: BB behaves fine when pressing a BB86 in, no issues with any expander I have used so far, too.

Can you fit 28mm tires on this frame?

I am running 25 mm tires, but according to LightCarbon (website and personal communication), 28 mm tires will fit on both frame versions (rim and disk brake). With 25 mm tires, I get a tire clearance of 6-7 mm to the seat tube. The fork clearance is absolutely fine for 28 mm.

I just check tire clearance on my LTK 268 ( Velobuild VB-R 168 or Workswell WCB-R-268 )
I have Conti 5000 non tubeless 32mm on 21mm inner width rim. Measured tyre width is 33mm.
Measured clearance with this setup are:
5mm - chainstay
8mm - seattube
14mm - seatstay

8mm - fork ( side clearance)
10mm - fork ( top clearance)

that doesn't look legit, but lots of legit shimano parts on aliexpress, just check the reviews, i bought a full 105 groupset that works great

My 099 frame and fork are actually really nice but, and, this is a bit but. The support and after service is total crap.
The handlebars are also completely crap, I snapped an integrated bar, the sent me the wrong size anyway.
I was eventually sent another bar but it didn't fit the steerer.

The stem I purchased to enable regular bars wasn't complete with the top cap missing, and it was 190g rather than the 140 they quoted. Oh, the axles were also the wrong length for the frame.

I posted about everything already so I won't go into detail.

I got on to them after purchasing their GF-001 gravel frame second hand locally. My experience with that frame was really good so when it came time to replace the road frame I went with the VB-R-168. So far my experience with the 168 has been really good and it seems to be the same for a lot of other people aside from minor stuff (see shorturl.at/lnrCG and shorturl.at/bdorO).

They seem to have some of the best reputation from the direct to consumer Chinese based companies. My two cents.

Anyone own a HongFu/Avenger TM6 TT bike? How is the sizing?

I have one in small. I am 175cm tall and it fits fine. Lots of fore and aft on the seatpost. 70mm stem seemed short to begin with but easy to get a good reach with the pads and risers. Similar to the old Trek in looks. Paint left a bit to be desired, but it is about 6 years old now, so things may have improved. Only real criticism is that the frame rubs on the fork if turned fully, taking the paint off. You don't feel this when riding, as you never turn the wheel this much.

I've built 2 velobuild bikes and had a positive experience in both situations.

I have done 12,000km non eventful on my LTK118 over the course of a year+. I also have 5 years on light bicycle wheels for what its worth that are still are working fine.

No issues with frame really, highly recommend. Think my build is under 16 pounds with carbon wheels, no weight weenie parts on it either.

Quick question about tyres and clearances, can you get 28-30mm tyres in there?
