Does anyone know of a road specific frame that has mudguard mounts or is my best bet to go for a gravel frame?
I saw this on Durianriders youtube channel today.
Trifox X8. Anyone know anything about them?

This landed yesterday, it's a size 56 Tantan GR039 in 'chameleon' complete with seatpost (round, 27.2) and one-piece bar and stem (very light). I'm intending building it for both road and light gravel, depending on the tyres. Clearance is listed as being up to 42mm.

Can I ask where you sourced this from? I've bought direct from China via eBay before but they don't seem to have GR039 (or if they do, my seach skills are weak). Did you go direct through Tantan or Aliexpress or something else?

What is the weight?
Naked framed including derailleur hanger. And with/without that handlebar

Are the Velobuild 099/Yoeleo R6/Ican Aero A9 the same frames?
And can the stiff ride of aero bikes be mitigated at all with bigger tires? Roads here aren't terrible but the shoulders get crunchy, even on my thin tubed weight weenie FM208.
Nope, those frames are all subtly different from one another. All 3 frames are different in the headtube junction, have different fork profiles, use different seatposts, and have different headset spacers. Any one of those frames would work well for a build tho. fatter tires will improve the ride quality somewhat, but at the same time your deep-section wheels and carbon spokes exacerbate the problem a whole lot more than the wider tires are able to mitigate. Overall you're just gonna be sore at the end of the ride. On the contrary, my flexy-spoked berd 23mm shallow wheelset actually does a great job of filtering out smaller vibrations, perhaps berd's marketing wasn't pulling claims out of their ass after all, but then again I haven't tested them either. I like them for the weight and that's all I can decisively recommend them for.

Is the BB a BSA standard? Does it comes already threaded, or do you have to thread it yourself?

BB is BSA. Yes it's threaded, I'd have been p'd off if I'd had to get that done myself! Does that ever happen?
I thought it was interesting that Chinese suppliers are supplying BSA by default - I didn't ask for it - they must have decided that's what the market wants. Just when I'd got used to BB86.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a no-nonsense rim brake frameset (BSA, 27.2, etc.) that can easily clear 28 mm rubber? I'm eying up the VB-077/LTK 118 and Hongfu FM-008 SL, but it looks like they max out at 25 mm.

What about the velobuild VR-086?
