Interesting - I haven't had that experience at all! Maybe primarily affecting US-Asia routes?

When was the last time you've order something from Chinese manufacturer directly?
Did it arrive within a decent time frame?
Where are you located specifically?

I order small stuff from Aliexpress throughout the year. Takes between 2-4 weeks max until at my door (Aliexpress standard shipping to Switzerland). Shipping costs have gone up a bit but it is still very cheap. If you choose something like Cainiao super economy, then yes, that will take months to arrive.

I ordered a Dengfu frame in June. Shipping costs were something around 120 USD (HK EMS) I think, delivered within a week. IMHO the shipping situation was a lot worse last year, especially between spring and summer.

Does anyone know of a road specific frame that has mudguard mounts or is my best bet to go for a gravel frame?

With current supply chain, you're lucky to get any product shipped from China.
Pricing of shipping container is skyrocketing, general cargo air shipment is soon to follow for smaller packages.
Raw material & electrical supply issues in China, production of goods is likely to be impacted all around.
I've stopped making purchases from Alibaba/express two months ago, still waiging on delivery of goods that I ordered back in MAY 2021.
Luck of the draw? 126gm Seatpost from aliex arrived in around a week. 4 weeks later still waiting for routing kit and quadlock rip off.

Same situation hunting for a bar and spacer combo that fits with the vbr-99 since I opted not to go with their factory bar for sizing reasons. Chris is communicative, but unwilling to mix and match parts. Finding a bottom spacer that is the right size and shape to mate with their headset and align with an aftermarket bar and allow hidden cables hasn't been easy so far. I'm also looking for shorter reach and narrower 38cm bars. There's some decent options on AliExpress, but all will require some custom spacers/adjustments.

Open to suggestions.
Did you find a solution to this?

Looking for a frameset that has BSA (or bb86 but prefer BSA), 27.2 seatpost and an endurance (like domane) geo and can fit 28mm tires - what do you guys recommend?

Like domane don't know. Carbonda 1056 is endurance geo, BSA, 27.2 and will fit 28mms on a 32mm wide rim if you want. (or up to 34mm width as measured)

FOCUS Paralane ?

Provided with mudguards (accepting up to 32mm tyres in this configuration). 35mm tyre clearance

Are there any frames with rim brakes and almost fully internal cables?

Are the Velobuild 099/Yoeleo R6/Ican Aero A9 the same frames?

And can the stiff ride of aero bikes be mitigated at all with bigger tires? Roads here aren't terrible but the shoulders get crunchy, even on my thin tubed weight weenie FM208.

I was hoping for something like the 2nd gen trek madone rim brake. Thank for the reply tho!

What's the flavour of the moment in open mold frames ?
I'm thinking maybe a light disc brake bike (850 g frame and 380 g fork), with 100 x 12 mm/ 142 x 12mm TA dropouts.
:beerchug:

Louis :)
