I'm sorry, but TD has actually posted the most accurate response to the original post.

I've seen a few SS's come with damage here before being used. Its an awkward place to paint and as a result becomes easy to crack around a tight tube.

The main problem is Cannondale is now run by a finance group who's sole reason is to make money; as a result they reject practically anything is not an obvious failure. Paint faults are considered "acceptable", unless you really kick and scream for a long time. BITD when they were still a brand with some mystique i've had Dale's replaced for far less than that, like when they changed to water based paints etc...

BTW torque wrenches are useless tools in the wrong situation, or when used incorrectly. Better off doing this by feel...

Artray- you best get back to villifying sky ;-)

to me this appears to be sloppy installation.

not worth the labour to rebuild around a fresh frame, if you do happen to get warranty. I would just spend the $8 on some green touchup paint.

I rescind the use of the word 'retarded'. Please substitute for 'intellectualy disabled', or another appropriate adjective.

It’s all in how you take it and what he meant by it, personally I take no offense to it.

@robertg, it's apity you've removed the two sets of photos. It did appear to be crack when the brake nut was in situ.
Hope you get it warrantied.

I've just recieved my 2013 evo duraace HM version, and there were also some minor paint defects and imperfections, even out of the box.
It's obvious that, Cannondale should take more care of their paint workmanship! Especially considering these ultra high price tags.

I suppose your new Evo has the mechanical DA9000 group? Just wondering since I have the same bike on order with DA di2 and C'dale can't provide any sort of ship date to my LBS. From this forum, I have concluded it will be available in February, but this is the only place I have been able to get any info.

Sorry for the minor thread derailment...
