Does the weight for their TCR Advanced SL (ISP) include the ISP topper? I'm assuming it does not, which makes the addition of a 250g seatpost into other companies frame weights a bit suspect. Those ISP toppers are often heavier than an inexpensive, lightweight seatpost. Anyone here with a Giant with a weight for the ISP topper?

That was my first reaction to the weight comparison as well. Plus I would say a well made carbon seatpost is more like 200g (or even less), not 250g.

Even a quality aluminum seatpost like the Thomson Masterpiece is only 200g.

amusing that they talk about being left out of testing, yet they've done the same thing - they did not list the Felt F1, only the AR1 (which won't win any stiffness/weight contest)

Take 50g off the 250 they added though and only the Evo beats it.

However there is, as mentioned, the cappy that is not included.

Keen to know where the rest of the weight for bikes like the Scott comes from? Lighter frame and fork yet still a high total weight :noidea:

What a farse.

That's 2 for 2 just for today! That "article" on PEZ for the "Broken Bones" was an interesting little circus of lies, but this is a bit too untrustworthy compared to other marketing departments of major brands.

250g seems pretty heavy for a seatpost. A more reasonable weight for a seatpost on a high end frame is 150-170.

craciunptr: I think the test is aimed at more everyday riders not the weightweenie crowd.

That being said I think 200g would have been a better number for the average seat post. That is on par with the FSA K-force lite. That post is similar to what would be spec on 3000 - 6000 dollar bikes

The TCR sl non ISP is 200gms heavier than the EVO. Apples to apples. Nice weight on the TCR alloy though.

giant propaganda is too late.

roadbike.de tested all the new frames.

frame weights

most frames use 27.2 seatpost. a relative cheap bontrager xxx seatpost 250mm weight a scant 140gm.
