Need help identifying Scott CR1 frame? Which one is it

Hi there,

I am currently in the process of building a lightweight bike (on a budget) for a friend of mine. Whilst looking for a nice frame I came across a Scott CR1 bike. I am having trouble identifying whether the frame is ultra light carbon fibre type of a cheaper one.

If my memory serves me right, the grey paint up front means it is the lightest 'Limited' edition. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks!

Looks like the "cheaper" Cr1 pro version.

A 2005 model CR1 LTD, the Pro version has grey decals, not silvery, and the word "Pro" on the top tube.

i think it is an sl as the sl had the gray gunmetal paint on the head tube junction, but i do not see an sl. the ltd version had the juctions painted with black or what it look like a black fade effect and the fork was completly black and lighter than any other versions.

I stand corrected, it was hard to see from the crappy pics but you're right, it seems to be a 2006 CR1 SL instead. Same frame as the LTD right?

As far as I can tell it is. I have found a couple of threads on the forum showing sub 6 kg bikes with the same frame, so...

Frame is the same but I do believe the fork on the lte is lighter by 10-30 grams.

Those older versions are more of a race bike than the current version, not to mention lighter.

Just weighed it on my kitchen scale and it indicated 1015 gram. The FSA headset was still installed, so probably somewhere around 950 grams for the frame, including derailleur hanger and FD clamp. Pretty sweet, considering this is a 2005 frame in a size 58.
