This is Weight Weenies man...............you're displaying backward thinking.

Sure they work, but don't do it

i have funky commuter bike, an old cannondale level top tube mountain bike, that i turned into my around towner. i wanted drop bars and i wanted them up high. the BBB-20 is a nice flexible solution and looks better than some of the others. from the online descriptions, it not so easy to see the subtleties of how the BBB part works. but it works well. there are two sizes available. make sure you get the right one. i live in the US, but got mine from bicycle hero . com and it actually somehow got to my home.
