i don't think so. I got the feels that cav looked behind and didn't go full gas because he thought it would be easy. That's what i got from the front shot.... then viviani came up SOOOOO FAST on him, that by the time cav looked across, viviani was level and just moving way faster. Cav usually then , when he realizes he will lose, just sits up to cross the finish.

impressive by viviani for those gaps he closed for sure!

lol u guys see cameron wurf on stage 5?

Back in california in January Junior matty mohoric had taught me his much famed sitting on the top tube while pedaling technique. When he did it I realized I had to do a million watts to keep up with him going down hill so knew it was effective.”

Probably right....at first I thought he faded, but on second thought it looks like he never gave it full gas.

Come on guys:

1. Viviani beat Cav fair and square
2. Cav is never going to do a half sprint
3. Cav and everyone else that sprints is going to give it 100% for a win every time.
4. Cav is not going to gift anything especially if it's not a team mate.
5. Viviani can be the next Cav.
6. Age is not huge factor Viviani age 25 and Cav age 28.

Cav's let himself go and won't be competitive this season!

I don't think so but changing of the guard will come as it does for everyone.

If you remember when Cav was in pink a few years ago at the Giro and he tried the same trick on Petacchi (LPR days)...with the same result. He jumped the gap, got up to speed before Cav and dusted him.

Cav was on today in turkey, there are alit of good sprinters, but right now he is the man to beat...

However unless something dramatic happens to Sagan, nobody else has a prayer at the green jersey in the TDF. Sagan is too versatile and can finish in the top 10 on 80% of the stages

Yeah. Winning only half the stages is a bit crap. :|

Cav was saying after today's stage that his leadout the last two days was so fast that he had no jump when the last man peeled off. Today he waited until the pace dropped a bit before kicking, so as to play more to his strength.

That's an interesting admission to make. If that's really the case, come the Tour, you'd have to expect that GS and LB will be keeping firepower back until the last km and launching Kittel and Greipel at top speed.

Cav was head and shoulders above Viviani today in Istanbul. Maybe OPQS did a better job in bringing him to the finish.

He is kinda short, his weight shows up very quick.
Sagan changed the green jersey game really, "autobus at the hills, win at the flats" strategy no longer works.

Edit: no Giro for Cav

Or OPQS do more training with Cav and he tries to keep up at full pace then launch. He has had a month off racing so is just getting into the swing of things again.

@efeballi - Cav isn't going to the Giro

A bit of a luxury having a leadout team so fast you can't accelerate. Richman's dilemma. :D

You can now buy Hanseeno shoes... if you have a spare 2000.00 Euro or so.

Under 95 grams though!

Viviani will not be the next Cav. By 23 Cav had won Grand Tour stages. By age 25 he had won 25 Grand Tour stages. By the time he retires or even turns 30 he will be the winningest road sprinter of the modern era or perhaps all time. His interviews should also be counted as "wins".
