What about Boasson Hagen? His stamina has improved loads since the classic season last year and he is the fastest on the Sky MSR squad. I hope he can surprise.

My Dad's hotel is 500m from the finish line. I'm a bit jealous....

So is only Froome and Rolland still using O Sys? Haven't seen David Millar this season, but no one from Sky is on them yet. IIRC they were by this point in the year.

Curious. Maybe the word got around the oval rings could yield anomolously high power readings on power meters which use magnets for cadence.

The issue is the rings have you spend more time at high torque. But work isn't time multiplied by torque, it's angle. The actual angle through which you turn the pedals at high torque doesn't change as much. So it's easy to overestimate power. This is essentially the mistake made by the power meters. Powertap would get it right, as should Power2Max.

From what I've heard riders and teams already knew that and didn't care. It was consistent and that's what mattered.

Nasty indeed - looks like toe covers on the ground afterwards.
Not sure how that happened. Scary.

Albasini is my outside pick as well. He can climb and he can sprint, and as you said, he showed good form in Paris-Nice. Whether he gets a real crack at it depends on how much work GreenEdge decide to do for Gerrans and/or Goss.

Of the favourites I'm going to go with Chavanel. His sprint win against Cav last week was impressive, and he's due a classics win.

Well it's kind of a tactical race pick, GE could send him up the road and if the weather turns nasty they could stay away....we'll see.

Looked he sort of unclipped and his foot slipped off the pedal and ended up between the wheels. Ouch indeed. Lets leave the fancy celebrating to Sagan

he said on belgian tv that he loosened his 2nd hand from the bar and got a crosswind in his frontwheel...

same race, 2 years ago, very good friend of Kenny Dehaes (winner this year), Steve Schets got this (back one in the picture):

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

just over the finishline Kenny Vanhummel (2nd this year, 2nd 2 years ago) clipped a photographer and took a lot of racers (including Schets, the winner) along in his fall.

I don't think Albasini is riding this one.
