Seems Martin decided to climb the Huy at his own pace, which may be the best way to time trial the hill (versus doing what Gilbert did), but tactically meant he had to pass a bunch of guys who went out too hard and blew. Maybe if he'd try to have stayed further up he'd have run out of gas, or maybe it would have paid off since he'd have a more open road.

I love this race... if I had to pick one place to be for one race during the classics, this would be it.

Agreed.

I would have loved to have seen how Martin would have fared if he had not flatted when he did. He would have been in a much better position, and almost certainly would have been on the podium.

That was great. Thanks. I like races that have the action a little further out than from 1300m to go.

Have never liked it. Fleche Wallonne is quite a boring race honestly. It's still the race you only have to watch for 10 minutes. Amsteld Gold with the new finish gives the race a bit more unpredictability. I hope Liege does entertain.

I wonder what LBL will be like this year with the "Falcons nest"-climb out. That's where Nibali attacked last year and blew the race to bits.

I have to agree.

But it sucks me in with the finish going back so many years. Nostalgia, hard drug to kick at times.

LBL was arguably the best Classic last year, looking forward to it.

Fleche Wallone has the coolest final climb, but the problem is that its the same thing every time. It looks interesting with modern camera angles, but its a race that I wouldn't bother tuning into until the final 5km.

I'm sorry, but it looks like Blythe is riding a boogie board and not a bike. I get the long and low ideal most pros have, but this just looks ridiculous.

It's too bad that the race doesn't get the credit it deserves (re: TBL) . This year it was semi-muddy and pretty tough throughout... some years it's raining and a total mess, almost like cyclocross levels of difficulty. Maybe if the race was run by ASO it would get more press and attention. Maybe if TBL winners got a clump of mud & rocks on top of a plaque it would have the folklore of getting a paving stone.
