about disc brakes on road bikes, that's what a little italian wheel maker told me: Uci biggest sponsor is Shimano. Shimano still has to develop and promote a road disk brake. So Uci is still waiting to give the green light to disc brakes fo road bikes.
As soon as Shimano gives the nod, the Uci will say yes to disc brakes for the road.
and it will not be for 2013

I liked Millar very much
So did I. Sister Fran gave some background yesterday.
BTW Sky should let her handle more of the communications stuff. They've been rather helpless lately.

She does look after much of their comms and media stuff, that is part of the reason they have been in such a mess lately. She's good at communicating the 'we're winning, aren't we great' stuff, not so good at the whole 'we messed up our zero tolerance policy and employed a load of people with dodgy backgrounds' stuff.
She was away on sick leave when Sky did their latest foot in mouth exercise, though.

But he's staring at a blank wall
Oh the possibilities
I never took drugs to improve my performance at any time. I will be willing to stick my finger into a polygraph test if anyone with big media pull wants to take issue. If you buy a signed poster now it will not be tarnished later. --Graeme Obree

I stopped reading after the "We are aware that some riders have complained publicly that despite having shared knowledge with the UCI, there was an inadequate follow-up. I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that the UCI did act on information provided in the past and it will always do so in the future, within the bounds of what is legally feasible" paragraph.
