Needed more battery life. Not that I ride more than 8 hrs at a time, but I do have a stat I aspire to each long day out. That is my 50/50 rule. Which means that 50% of the elapsed time of any “ride” may be spent off the bike... wining, dining, relaxing... whatever comes up. It’s the unexpected that makes riding so enjoyable. And a lot of that happens off the bike for me.

Overall It’s not even that much bigger than the Edge 1000, but the actual screen is much larger...

Garmin Edge 520 so i can do Xert app intervals on the road

King ti cages and white Giro Empire lace ups for the new build

6x elite fly bottles. A mistake as while they are light they leak or worse explode if you press them too hard in a bag, in the car etc. Also material is so thin the bottle will definitely get a hole in if you ever drop it while riding, let alone lasting a winter of abrasion from the cage. Camelbak from now on.

Castelli Endurance and cheapest Assos shorts. So far my arse says Assos are nicer. Lycra quality better and pad feels nicer too.

Air compressor and Prestaflator with gauge. Simply because some times you have to go full baller!!!
The compressor works just like advertised, but the Prestaflator part is pure chit!! First, it came with a presta head that wouldn’t fit their own hose. After writing them and waiting a few days, they sent the right fit one and even threw in an extra large one. Their rubber gasket are such crap that after using them on 2 tires they tore up!!! Should have bought the super duper overpriced Parktool one. You get what you pay for ultimately!!!

I see a lot of people using the park inflator, but one of the better local shops has relegated them to the public air outside and uses something... homemade? In the shop. I keep meaning to get details on that.
