"Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride"
Seirus Mtn Challenger Gloves - cycling gloves suck. These actually keep your fingers warm. Heated glove liners underneath and they've been really comfy down to -20 (C). Also allow a decent amount of dexterity for your fingers.

a few items for my new bike (Emonda SL6) which I am using as my daily commuter and which I will be using for long Audax rides
Cygolite Hotshot Pro 200 rear light: (amazing light and I've been using the smaller 50 lumens for 3 years and have now given that to my wife) ...
-----------------------------------------------
Training and Racing with a Power Meter:
------------------------------------------------------
Dura-Ace R9100 SPD-SL Clipless Pedals:
---------------------------------------------------
Wahoo TICKR Heart Rate Monitor (the screws on my Garmin HR monitor are seized and the threads are damaged on one of the screws):
---------------------------------------------------------
Kryptonite New York Lock (I have taken out the Wiggle Elite Bike Insurance package and I have to submit photos of a Gold Rated Lock):
----------------------------------------
BRITISH ARMY MITTENS / GLOVES - DPM - EXTREME COLD WEATHER - THERMAL (I have read some reviews on an Audax forum and guys speak highly of these.... I leave home at 05h00 every morning and hoping that these will keep my hands warm):
-----------------------------------------
Miss Grape Node Top Tube bag .... these are quality and much better than my previous Apidura which I used:

Bought my daughter a new bike. Great deal on ebay, comes with shimano 5700 shifters/FD/RD. Need to pick up a different wheelset as the ones on the bike are CRAP. She outgrew her 24 inch wheel bike and it's time she had a proper bike to ride with me.

Yes, it does. I use one with my 520 no problems at allIchDien wrote:Does this work fine with your Garmin then? My Garmin HRM is also on the blink.

Well-done, Dad.

Just bought a Quarq DZero Red GXP 110 / 170 so I can run "normal" non-PowerTap wheels. At this rate it's going to be an ~790g porker once I add in ~150g for Sram Red rings and mounting bolts plus ~90g for a PF86 BB. Am I doing bad math?! http://www.bikebug.com/images/Addinfo/q ... ospecs.jpg
For comparison purposes, my non-power SRAM Red GXP 110 / 170 all in with rings (569g) and GXP PF86 (~90g) tips the scales at ~660g. I was expecting a ~60g weight penalty with the Quarq DZero Red carbon, but not twice that...
Keep in mind my PowerTap GS rear hub was only a 70g penalty versus a low-end Reynolds rear hub (325g vs 255g).

Hey @Dim
How are you finding
Training and Racing with a Power Meter:
Or is it too early to tell
I’ve been reading “The Time Crunched Cyclist”
It’s okay but I wonder if your new book offers much more... I know you can’t answer unless you’ve read both
I’m pushing 50 and need to work a bit smarter to keep the power up and the apathy at bay
Thanks
Tony

I've read reviews about this book and apparantly it gets very technical at times .... I'm hoping that I learn how to understand how to use the powermeter properly as at the moment, I don't have a clue
I've been watching the power numbers and it does not make sense to me at the moment .... I'm tending to grind at the moment at lower cadence but I need to get my average cadence back to 80
I've also read that it's good to join training peaks

120 Deda 120 gr. Surprisingly how physically small this stem is. Looks out of proportion on the V2
