Kask Protone 2.0, size M = 283g - barely too small for my melon
Kask Protone 2.0, size L = 285g - just right, give or take
Replacing my Catlike Whisper (not Mixino), size L = 240g
Wondering about a Speci Prevail II...

1. Sram RED FD, because the FM079 frame doesn't clear FD-9000 good enough. Wonder how it'll work with Shimano front shifter.
2. A pair of 1.5USD glasses from Ali to replace a more expensive Oakley Radar knockoff because resin has degraded into sticky mess on these. I expected the mold to be the same, but the new frame is actually a 1cm more narrow, which is good, but arms and lens have different design, which disappoints me, but I can still live with.
3. Replacement hoods for ST-RS685, because same sticky resin issue.
4. A Carbon Works cage to help with those last grams in order to drop my FS MTB under 9kg.
Buying cheap glasses with crap lenses is the worst way to save money...
Why exactly? I use glasses only to protect against debris, branches and insects, the actual sunlight never caused me any inconvenience.

I want to know when a stone flicked up by a truck at God knows what speed hits my glasses, it won't penetrate the lense. I also want decent non distorted vision.

MAMIL? Never. O.F.I.L. yeh! (Old F**ker in Lycra)
It's not just sunlight but UV radiation that you should protect your eyes from.
One of the many reasons not to go cheap with the sunglasses when biking....

Cheap safety glasses are impact tested, and having polycarbonate lenses offer 100% protection from UV. So it is possible to get two out of three for one tenth of the price if one is so inclined (optics of the expensive glasses are still superior).
+1^ safety glasses are certainly cheap and impact/UV resistant, I thought it's fine if the guy don't care for better optics. The article about the broken jawbreaker is rather silly, any pair of eyeweae would break in a face-planting incident.
I am very much amazed by his priorities though, he'll rather get a Carbonworks bottle cage over authentic eyewear...

I totaly disagree.
There are tons of tasteful protective glasses out there which cost a fraction of that what is worn by "pro riders" and of that what especially a US company with their fancy HQ wants us to wear. Their last models have exaggerated towards the welder and ski googles design and size and cyclists around the globe do think they must follow their last shit produced. What you then see are stereotypes of otherwise smart people ,who just look embarrassing in their welder googles.
Even if you disagree with my views and you think that you need to spend money to have protective eyewear then for heavens sake check on Rapha classic line or their regular "cyclists MUST wear curved aerodynamic glasses" line.
