what derailleur are you planning to use?

I have a Dura Ace long cage derailleur. In the process of tuning it now with carbon cages, ti spring, alloy bolts, and carbon jockey wheels with ceramic bearings. I'll be using a 52/38 up front (fibre lyte) but don't expect to see the 52 in use at all. I considered going single ring up front, but don't want to disassemble the front end for one event.

The info for the cassette is here http://luckynino.blogspot.com/2009/03/1 ... sette.html

Mine came in at 175 grams... I thought it weighed more but I accidently weighed it with an 11th cog (it came with both a steel and titanium 11-tooth.)

Yokozuna reaction cables and two KMC x10sl chains to wrap around the 34-tooth cog and the long derailleur. Pics to follow.

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

Pro Vibe carbon bars are $99 at JensonUsa.com on closeout so I got a set in 42cm and a Pro Vibe 7s stem. Also got an Assos Airjack 851 since I don't own a winter jacket and got that on sale as well.
Don't take me too seriously. The only person that doesn't hate Froome.

Took advantage of the 2010 Mavic sale. I ordered a set of R-Sys Premiums and Cosmic SLs.

A flurry of eBay apparel buys:

+ Campy Racing bib XL (2009, c644), £45 / $70
+ Campy Raytech gloves (2009, c421), £20 / $31
+ Castelli Rosso Corsa gloves, £10 / $16
+ Diadora Infinity Carbon Tri shoe 46 (2008 or 09), £45 / $70

All good deals for new stuff with labels, factory packing, etc. And sent by normal post so no duty/tax on arrival unlike EMS or courier ... average transit 6 days from USA/UK/Asia.

The bib has the same pad as my 11 speed bibs, as well as the rear pockets ... necessary in that I wear a light Nike t-shirt in place of a jersey in this climate and would otherwise have no rear pockets.

The Campy gloves are one of the few models with gel pads and are as expected well designed, padding done just right, good workmanship, and fit very well. Noticable improvement over what I was wearing.

The Castelli gloves are the happy surprise and had initially attracted my attention as they are carried by Competitive Cyclist, and are of a no-velco pull-on design. These have gel padding right across the palm and on the inside of the thumb. No more difficult to remove than the velco strap style and have a tug-on-it tab. They are made of quick drying mesh on both sides, unlike the Campy which has a microfibre leather looking palm.

The Diadora's are nice and with sizing a bit thinner and with a narrower toe area than my previous 5 year old Pearl Izumi size 46, but are also 1 cm longer (30 vs 29). The lower stack height is a big improvement and very noticable when duck walking, clipping in/out, and pedaling.

vHoldr Contour HD 1080p helmet cam and a 16GB microSD card. Next time some asshole comes after me with a golf club while I am riding I'll have it on video. Oh, it will be nice to record the Mt. Washington hillclimb this weekend too.
