Clearly the true weight weenie asthmatic keeps a nearly empty inhaler for the jersey pocket :)

Am I the only one who thinks this thread is 2-3 days overdue?

And don't get so far up yourself. This thread is a slightly amusing diversion, not a work of genius.

I think you should follow your own advice.

Now... back to the drilling and cutting of KEYS...

if you're browsing around on weight weenies... and you see a post that has no relevance to you... then don't read it! if you're watching tv, and the station you are on is playing garbage, do you change the channel or do you sit there and insult the station for being worthless?

in the mean time, Jack you should get some titanium keys fabricated. that would be pretty cool. but not nearly as cool (or as geeky) as getting a fingerprint scanner:

theyre on ebay for as low as $80.

Oi. Fight stops here. This is a WW forum. The personal business of the poster should stay out of WW related business. I can't see how being a porn star affects WW ism.

This is pretty funny, but correct in the WW frame of mind. It's a long time since we've seen someone drill out everything physically possible. Proper WW spirit.

Keys are a necessity, but I don't race with them so I see them as a 'training aid'.

As for the ipod, use a shuffle. Tiny, light and cheap. I took the clip off mine.

EDIT: Forgot to say. Justride, take your elitist head out of your ass. YOU are one of the contributors towards the degeneration of the forum with posting like that. Normally you're great. Appreciate the frame of mind of Jack. Yes, a lot of threads were made and a lot of posts arbitrary (no offence Jack, it's great to see) but they were thinking in grams and filled with some quite clever tricks. This isn't a secret elitist society where we sit around bitching about riders with cheap bikes, it is a weight and gear related forum fundamentally, and Jack is thinking in grams.

When posting on WW turns into personal attacks and I do not care who is doing the attacking, it is time for you to leave the forum period. Personal attacks are just not called for nor warranted on this site.

I like the light side of Jack's posts from time to time and could care less what his profession is outside of the forum.

If you do not like Jack's post then just move on to the next post but when you go out of your way to attack someone on a thread you do not like, well time to find a new forum.

For me I carry a single key. car or house depending on where the ride starts. I have a few individual keys cut for it.

The problem is with a few cars, the key and alarm remote are all in one...

So I looked at my keychain and it had crap on it, brass front door key that I never use is gone, rear door key is alu. The golden horse shoe is gone and I've put what's left on a smaller keyring. Didn't weigh it, but this was a free weight reduction that feels like about 1/2 of what it was, sweet!

My only issue it was posted originally in the wrong forum...

Cycle Chat - 'Chat about everything light bicycle related'. Where as the Road forum is for 'Discuss light weight issues concerning road bikes & parts'

I don't carry keys racing and in training I just see the extra weight as a training aid

Thanks for the cool comments, PM's and emails guys....

Back to lightweight keys.... I remember a few years back seeing 'credit card emergency keys' they were meant for just a few uses, but still an interesting concept.

A Carbon Fiber key would be pretty cool, and a good "I'm a Weight Weenie, that's why" conversation starter!

P.S. I gotta start thinking of ways to lighten up my Google Phone as well!
