Shaving of legs

My girlfriend and I actually talked about this yesterday, after reading an article about Matti Breschel. In the article he states that every bikerider only uses the excuses of wounds healing faster and massages being nicer with shaved legs, when in reality they do it because it looks good :D And that not one single bikerider has not looked down at his calves and thought to himself "Damn, those legs look so good". I actually agree with him.

Anywho, then we started talking about shaving my legs, just for the kicks of it, but then my girlfriend asked a questions I could not answer: Why don't bike riders shave their arms?

So my question to you:
Why don't bikeriders shave their arms, or do they actually shave them as well?

Don't have to worry about cracking scabs on your arms when riding.

Don't get massages on your arms (and when the masseuse has to pick your leg hairs of their hands, you have too much hair on your legs, and every single one that comes out hurts........)

I know a few people who also shave their arms.

But on the whole I agree, it is a look more than anything else. That is what cyclists do. In fact a large number of pro sportsmen do, it just so happens that a lot of recreational cyclists actually do it as well.

Leg shaving is for nothing more than tradition... but I might well do it myself for the first time this spring!

Arm shaving is just for swimmers surely?!

I am pretty sure that people who say 'its just for show' have almost no natural body hair.

I think there is a bit more ape in our ancestry than most others.

Having patches of leg hair ripped out really really hurts!

it s permissable when you re starting out riding a bike but after that get it sorted.

Because my (ie. a climber's) arms look absurdly skinny with no hair?

Rule number one: Look good!

In addition to the above reasons I find the application of sunblock a darn sight easier on the legs sans hair.

Did I mention looking good?

Sometimes it looks like there's a hamster inside the cyclingshorts

But yeah, legs are clean all spring/summer and a little bit of a wildforrest on them during winter.

I shave because if I don't, people mistake me for Borat. Minus the ladies.

Also depends on how much hair you have. Some people have so much hair coming out from under the spandex its crazy. If I were to shave my arms, I don't think a single person would notice other than my girlfriend (I'm asian and have almost no arm hair). Plus, i don't know any guys who shave their arms but have you ever felt a girl's arm thats been shaved? Stubbly arms are GRROSSS.
