He throwed his bike straight over the fence. It was very funny. Watch the video from 6':55''

"After looking at the chain that Mr. Millar broke today, the mechanics are plain dumbfounded. It didn’t break on the pin, but right in the middle of the link."

how the heck can that happen??

Nothing wrong with a rider showing a bit of emotion.

Bjarne Riis did the same thing with a much more expensive bike while riding in the Tour De France when he had a series of mechanicals, got fed up and flung his Pinarello TT bike into the field.

Good thing Slipstream-Chipotle doesn't have a title sponsor; someone investing millions of dollars into a team would probably not appreciate the unsportsmanlike conduct shown by Millar.

I wouldnt really consider what he did a big deal considering the circumstances. The guy was fired up and trying to sprint for a win and then for that to come to abrupt end with a broken chain had to be very emotional. Its not like he bitch slapped a bystander or something.

Check the photo of him on his bike in the Slipstream link. It looks like he's using the Garmin to transmit from the Powertap.

edit -- scroll down to the Stage 4 pic.

He was just getting the bike out of the way. Very considerate if you ask me. :D

Mr. Millar is one of the owners.
- Zipp rims will break if you look at them too hard
- R-Sys wheels will spontaneously explode
- The ZG crankset will never, ever exist
- Everyone needs Lightweights, even if they're fat and old
- Parts actually made of metal are SO 10 years ago

I cant belive this thread has lasted this long...

Dudes, he had worked his tail off all day to win a stage of the Giro.

Not some crappy training crit, not a sportive...The freakin GIRO!!

And it's not like he didn't stand a chance of winning it.

Then it all came crashing down with a mechanical.... I'd throw my bike too!
