On Sunday I was in Hexham in the north-east of England for the National HC championship which was as fun and mad as ever. The male winner was a slight surprise, Harry McFarlane shading Andrew Feather by 2 seconds, but by all accounts he has been in flying form this autumn. Illi Gardner comfortably took the women's title as the Alpe d'Huez QoM holder should.

Huge props to McFarlane!
Feather, what the bloody h#ll?

Worst of all, seems the amateur tifosi are just as horrible as at pro races.
Riders didn't even have breathing room in spots, rather disrespectful IMO.

Everyone was very excited. The riders were fine, they were fighting the hill not spectators.

Andrew Feather is verging on veteran status and Harry McFarlane has been winning everywhere this autumn. Also to note, junior rider Harry Hudson was just 0.7s behind AF and would have easily made the senior podium.
