I think it's hilarious that the list was written as satire and there's people on here defending it like it's their mother's honr. Reminds me of the Velominati rules. I love it. Good post Nick.

Are you off your meds or something ?....I mean you are hallucinating and seeing things that simply aren't there, making up wild stories, babbling incoherently, being needlessly confrontational, and your reading comprehension has gone total full bore rubbish....Asking for a friend. .......EtoDemerzel wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 8:44 pmHas nothing to do with whether you like rim or disc. I have both and like both.blutto wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 4:41 pmKilling the messanger is never ever a great idea, especially when there is a possibility, however remote, that he is correct, and you end up looking not so good or worse eh....that being said and on the postive side, at least you didn't stoop so low as to call his wife ugly.EtoDemerzel wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:38 pmDon't give views to that asshat. Its just playing to the algorithm in the worst possible way. It's so weird cycling is a fairly niche sport but it's got so many shit youtubers that figure out the tabloid way is so much easier to gain views that true content creation.

He's just pandering the rim brake crowd, just like his hambini video trying to get views off bs drama, playing the algorithm for views. Same shit.
and WTF how do you go from hashing his content "rim brake virtue signalling" to speaking ill of his wife? I mean WT actual F

I like the satire. I like it was stated upfront it’s satire.
I am not sure what to make of those who made it serious. I need to start dishing out warnings for ad hominem responses triggered by satire. The perfect bait and catch.
Today I learned everything is a trap!!

Sorry, I had to rise to this. I was enthusiastic about discs on this site. Here's my disc bike build thread from October 2013 and I don't think there were many disc builds here prior to that date. Look, the photos still work!blutto wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 4:54 pmWhat can I say, the world of fashion in its search for new shiny baubles is notoriously fickle. That aside they were quite ubiquitous in MTB so they were in fact a standard in the bike world and those old school farts at Colnago actually introduced a disc road frame in 2013 ( and frankly I didn't see a huge wave of support or enthusiasm for this concept on this site....though that may just be due to the fact that the shill count on the forum had not reached critical mass yet ).

Moved that bike on long ago and although there were a number of technical issues to work through it was very influential on my cycling: it was my gateway to disc brakes, and tubeless, and gravel riding.

Wide adoption doesn't happen overnight for most tech, especially in this case when early implementations included QR disc, 135mm and even 130mm OLD dropouts. It should not surprise you that road disc really came into its own just one industry development cycle later.
