For Aussies: Is bikebug operating in cahoots with pushys (or vice versa)?

I often use both.
My initial suspcisions were that often I see stock levels are very similar (or identical), exact same pricing.
And when things go out of stock at one place, they sometimes go out of stock at the other.
Well ok. I thought nothing of it. I thought it could be a supplier stock level thing. Or coincidence.
But a few days ago I ordered something from bikebug paying through zip payment gateway, and at the end it said something like "returning to pushys".
I don't have a screenshot of it sorry. I find this all a bit strange.

Thanks for that info.
But it's not great news (I think) as they were probably the two biggest bike retailers in Australia.
Many of the parts that I got were available in both stores.
Hope prices don't start to skyrocket without the competition.
(99 bikes doesn't seem to have anywhere near as much choice/range)

Pushys acquired BikeBug in February 2022.
CCache is worth a look for decent range and competitive prices - generally on par with or better than BikeBug/Pushys: https://ccache.cc/

The demise of Wiggle/CRC was a big loss for us in Australia.
Back to the Australia tax now.

I've used ccache a couple of times now, and great service.
Most now do price matching, and that's how I got my Wahoo Roam 2.0
99bikes matched a price from ccache and beat it by 5%
Welcome to 2 years ago. Prices have not risen greatly.fatpinarellorider wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 7:43 amThanks for that info.

Bikebug, as far as I am aware, used to buy some inventory from overseas, not from the Australian distributors. This could make warranty issues interesting. I don't know if they still do.
CCache will quite often say they have stock, but in reality is at the distributors warehouse. They use direct feeds from the vendor's systems. This is not always reliable. I looked at an item recently which apparently was available at the vendor. I checked the distributor end, and they had no stock. Don't know how this works.
NB. I work in industry on the retail side, so have access to a lot of vendor inventory availability data via vendor portals.

I am using CCache a bit. Haven't had to wait too long for anything yet. Prob the best local option.
