Regarding the Lombardia, it does look to me that all the others are not even thinking of trying anymore.
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:

The psychological dominance is as crushing as the physical supremacy. Will next year be the one where he finally gets clear on the Poggio? Only climb left in the world where he can't ride away at will, it seems!

Classy move by the Belgian champ Eli Iserbyt in Exactcross today. IMO the DQ was not enough.

Agreed. Eli needs a few weeks on the sidelines to have a good think about his attitude.

Pidcock deselected for Lombardia. Seems very strange after getting 2nd at dell'Emilia - the form seems to be solid, on a course that suits him. Who on Ineos is going to be better than him? Maybe they are sending a message about being a team player..
The irony that Hayter DNFed.

Did you see Pog's attack? Perfect execution w/ his teammate just as they caught the break and threaded the needle so Remco and others couldn't follow. No one had the legs anyway. They were trying.

I can't believe he didn't sit out at least one race for that and fined. Ridiculous.

Putting your bike in the air at the finish line (or podium) seems to be hot in 2024: Pogacar in Lombardia, Van der Poel at the gravel worlds, Remco at the Olympics, Pogacar at the Tour podium,.....

seems like a proper way to celebrate when you win by minutes not seconds

I think it works okay in certain cirumstances, but if used too often it becomes less special.

The sight of Remco standing in front of the Eiffel Tower in the Olympics road race was very special. Similarly when Pogacar does a long range breakaway then this is worthy. Van der Poel at the gravel worlds less so.

I want to know how you smash a derailleur from the NDS. He'd have had to put his foot through the spokes first.
The clip seemed that he was simply after the wheel, since his foot was closer to the BB.
I know, picky picky. Just saying that his chosen retaliation move was idiotic. Rubbin' is racin'!

The mech was the point of support with the ground. When he stood on the wheel, most of his weight was already going through it. When he stamps you can see the rear triangle drop an inch. That'd be the mech either digging itself a hole in the ground or giving up. Which is more likely?

If a frame is lying on the ground, drive side down, then the rear derailleur may be the main contact with the ground. If you stand on the other side of the frame the force will be through the derailleur or hangar and it will most likely suffer damage.

The behaviour of a fool. Any sanction is welcome.

Powless was impressive to watch at Piemonte from 42k out. Excellent race imo. Chapeau.

Pretty darn impressive today as well (8th), given the parcours.
