I must have missed the ISO certification announcement on grand tours. Opinions may differ on what constitutes a grand tour, Mr Sourgrapes: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Tour

Grand Tour in this context is a race-format officially described by the UCI. It has its own points structure and rules subset.

Grand Tours must be between 15-23 stages long.
They can be no longer than 3500km.
Teams may have 8 riders.
Etc, etc.

It’s not an arbitrary term.

MVP goes earlie guilty pleas on Monday before Magistrate Hugh Donnelly in Sutherland Local Court.

He was ordered to pay $1500(australian = $980usd) in fines.

https://www.news.com.au/sport/cycling/s ... 3703cfe90a
The court details don't sound good for MVP. He forced his way into the girls' room and assaulted one while she was cowering in a corner then assaulted the other while she tried to flee. If he cannot get the conviction overturned he will have trouble trying to travel outside of Europe.
can you send a link where to find those details?

Remco doesn't drink alchol so hence the Cola. He won't ride Il Lombardia.
Remco rides Binche-Chimay-Binche on Tuesday and then gets married on Il Lombardia weekend
No patience to sport that jersey ... and I completely understand!

When's the last time someone won a monument, grand tour and world championship in the same season?
Well, AVV won three grand tours and a world championship in the same season, plus a whole bunch of other stuff.
The TdFF, Giro Donne, and Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta aren’t grand tours, so you didn’t even come close to answering my question.
Ha, feisty as ever (FYI I did put a wink in there). You could have also pointed out they are mere one week races regardless of official status, or that depth of field just doesn't match the men's races . I'll grant you all of that but now I must ask (rhetorically), would Remco have won worlds if he had the same crash and fractured elbow as AVV? Remember we're talking about my girlfriend so careful what you say.

There's video of him in boxers running into their room and lots of screaming. I'd say the girls' accounts are pretty accurate and he also made at least a partial admission to his actions. He went way, way over the line here.

Yeah saw that, but you can’t really make out what happened. It looked like he grabbed one of them and that’s about it. Which also is his story.
Its the parents attitude that baffles me.

Not a VdP fan by any means and it looks like he over-reacted a tad. But for me, this is just indicative of the whole "woke" thing in society where it seems acceptable to let your children run riot in a public space with no thought to the effects on others in the community. It's ok as long as the kids can express themselves etc. Really? My partner and I have, hopefully, raised a 16 yo who is comfortable in her own skin but has sufficient respect for other people and property. Even at 9 or 10 she would have had more respect and manners than what appears to have been shown to VdP. No excuses.

I’m sure you didn’t do anything stupid when you were 13 … or 33. Trying to blame this on wokeness sure is something, especially when the kids ended up being the ones physically harmed. If being woke means not excusing a 184cm man committing violence against teenage girls, then I’m woke af.

What would you think if someone charged your daughter and shoved her into a wall after she was cowering in fear?

When I was a child I remember staying on holiday with friends in a hotel and running about at night knocking on other guests doors at night. It seems stupid now, then it seemed like a fun thing to do. If I found my kids doing it I would tell them it was bad and not to do it. However I would not expect another adult to behave in the way MVdP did and if someone burst into my children's room and frightened them then I would be very annoyed.

It’s MvdP’s violent actions that baffle me.

Their parents where in the room next to them, just letting your kids run around a hotel, making a lot of noise disturbing guests says enough about the parents.
His girlfriend had already asked them to stop, so they already had their warning. Sure Mvdp overreacted but bother parties are to blame here.

Over reacted a tad??? wtf! the person to blame here is MvDP 110% he should have just asked reception to move him to another room and or asked them to ensure the girls stopped, chances are, had he just ignored them for 30mins or so, they d have got bored.

It has never been acceptable for an adult to attack young teens, esp a large man going for teen girls, what if the father had got involved?

Woke is the exact opposite of what you describe, its about being aware of others feeling and doing something about it, the girls parents should have been more woke!
