For weekly race reviews, I really enjoy CT's Venga crew.

I see that Gaviria was relegated today. It was so dangeous, and he also ***** the DSM riders' chances.
Sprinting is not for the faint hearted, I know, but this was just stupid. Quite a miracle they didn't crash.
He is so ****** aggressive.

Maybe, but at least he doesn't punch riders and call them names like a certain former boxer!
As he claimed, and it could well be true, his rd was touched in the usual chaos before the sprint and rd got stuck.
He's really desperate for a win by the way he's riding.

It's funny that you think Dan Lloyd looks the most like a cyclist when the other three former riders there had much more illustrious careers in the sport (Not mentioning that Orla was a good athlete in her own right). Dan looks the most like a "traditional" cyclist as he focused on climbing, it also helps that the t-shirts and sweatshirts he wears go into his back pocket if someone buys one.maquisard wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 8:34 pmI find her very difficult to watch, particularly as she has a pretty limited knowledge of cycling between the past few years and Sky era. I quite like Dan Lloyd and don't mind Sir Wiggins. The latter is very partisan in opinions but he has an encyclopedia like knowledge of the sport going back a long way.AJS914 wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 2:24 pmI really like Orla Chennaoui on The Cycling Podcast Feminin. I like Dan Lloyd and I don't even mind Wiggins. Blythe, eh. The fashions are curious. I always wonder why Orla has the mid-summer south of France tan even in the winter when she lives in the Netherlands. Is that UK presenter fashion right now? Dan Lloyd looks like a bike shop guy who threw on a GNC t-shirt at the last second so he could be on this tv show.
I admire Dan Lloyd for not being a fashion show victim like the rest of them. There is nothing wrong with jeans and a sweatshirt and he looks more like a cyclist than the rest of them putted together!
Each to their own but I wouldn't bother commenting on how someone looks when there job is to report on cycling. I think it helps bring in some younger audiences that have been put off by the stuffy nature of a lot of cyclists
yes he is, and I'm quite suprised he was relegated and not DQ'ed - he was all over the place, sprinting like he didn't care there are other riders as well. add to this that "friendly" shoulder bump after crossing a finish line the other day and it seems we have a nasty angry man in the peloton.
and as for his "apology" for blaming the bike, it just screamed sponsors'/team's fury, it wouldn't suprise me if he literally got slapped for that in a team bus lol

it's one thing to talk about commentators' work and skills, something completely else to jabber ad nauseam about their looks and fashion. it's a pro cycling thread, do you really think it's a proper place to talk some dude's pants or tattoos?

What was her field of athletic ability?Tifosiphil wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 11:27 am(Not mentioning that Orla was a good athlete in her own right)
Edit, found it, Irish triple jump champion while at school, I didn't know that.
It was funny to hear everybody mentioning the name of Mollema at the start, both GCN and even Petacchi in Rai, and he was up there in the escape.
Tomorrow should be another fun stage to watch, let's see if VdP is gonna go for it.
