From my perspective, MVDP has always had a bratty attitude. This just proves it. Such an easy issue to resolve. This kind of thing will not be forgotten, and will stain his career.

What nobody has said that the kids were doing this at a reasonable hour. It wasn't like it was 3am. Sure the kids were being kids and were out of line but they weren't that out of line. They would have had no idea that a cycling world champion is there trying to get some sleep at an early hour.

MvDP failed on so many accounts:

Should have rented a villa for his entourage closer to the event
Should have called security, the hotel, team management, etc.
Could have talked to the parents.
Shouldn't have chased a teenage girl anywhere
Fail, fail, fail, fail .....

I can't believe that any of you are defending him at all.

I can believe it. Look at the language being used.

At the end of the day man got mad for kids being kids. Kids got their consequences. Man got his consequences.

This also came to mind: https://twitter.com/sven_nys/status/157 ... 9873896%2F

Let’s end it here.

Not going to let you end the conversation like that. The kids didn’t deserve those consequences. That wasn’t justice being served, and MvdP ultimately wasn’t the bigger victim in this ordeal, nor were the girls “bullies.” They were the ones that got physically assaulted by someone twice their age and basically twice their size. This wasn’t kid vs kid or adult vs adult… it was and adult traumatizing kids.

I have 3 kids and 4 grandkids. If any of them were doing what those girls did I would be the one giving them the beating. Some parents are just useless.

Hopefully if any of your kids catch you beating their kids they'll beat you. Beatings for everyone! That's a constructive solution.

There were bad decisions and behavior by multiple parties. But the one thing I can never forgive is MVDP not renting a villa.

Changing the subject from this tiresome circular argument...

Ineos are allegedly interested in Remco.

I would really like to see this move as Quickstep just don't have the resources, will or experience to be a TdF winning team.

Ineos need someone. I'm still waiting for a surprise Roglic announcement too :P

QS might not have the resources/budget now, but Belgian companies would be very interested in being the title sponsor of a Belgian tour winner. Remco to Ineos is very unlikely imo. Less than Roglic.

You obviously didn't read the interviews with the CEO's of Soudal and Quickstep.
