Rain jacket

What rain jacket to get for riding in spring and autumn? I need something that can cope with much more than a light drizzle, be race cut and that breaths at the same time. It also must fit in the jersey pocket.
I’ve order this one in S and XS but it does not fit me well.

I was considering raphe core 2 rain jacket but it seems to be as breathable as a condom

Is there anything that would work for given criteria and not exceed 200E???

Anything that is wind & water proof is not going to have enough convection on the inside to keep you dry on the inside, you'll just sweat your *** off....even a shakedry. This is why you see a lot of loose rain jackets. You need some air moving in there or even the best shell can't get the sweat from your skin to the shell to let the shell do it's work. That air needs an entrance and an exit, not just pit vents. Just something with some ventaltion - like a real back flap and either a mid section zipper or side/pit vents. You might be better off with a "wind" shell. The other option is something like a gabba, which doesn't use air to pull the sweat off you, but the fuzzy fabric.
The key thing here you need besides fit is temp range. Any jacket you get that feels like it's never the right temp for is useless. Id buy a few jackets, go sit in the bathroom with a hot shower running, and see how long you can sit there before you get clammy or test ride it on the trainer before you take the tags off.
Maybe have a look here - https://www.castelli-cycling.com/us/men ... 05821P-030
This might work since it allows some air movement - https://www.ornotbike.com/collections/j ... et-morocco
Arm vents - https://7mesh.com/rebellion-jacket
If you're dealing with mist, this might work for you (and it's excellent) - https://www.ornotbike.com/collections/j ... acket-sage

I did a 2 hour ride in the rain this morning wearing the 7mesh Oro jacket. Temperature was 16C and I was perfectly comfortable. There are two vents on the back that kept the inside comfortable. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned. https://7mesh.com/mens-oro-jacket
Shakedry doesn't live up to the hype. It packs small, breathes slightly better than Gore Active/GTX or similar, but doesn't fit well, doesn't feel nice, isn't durable, and without any air moving around inside, you're a swampy mess inside. If someone made a shakedry with a little vent here, a little vent there, it might be a different story.
Shame. Thought the ShakeDry was decent. Maybe the new Assos rain shell may be good, but at $400, not the best price on a thin piece of material.

The best feature of a shakedry jacket is the small size and low weight, about 100g. It's always with me, even if the main duty is as windshell.
I also have a Mavic goretex jacket that is arguably better in driving rain. It has armpit zippers, and even a double front zipper with a mesh membrane, so if the main zipper is undone there is airflow coming in from the front, jfranci3 would like it. But it packs larger and weighs 280g iirc.

Thank you all for suggestions. I'll probably have to stick with Castelli and maybe see if Mesh7 is available to give them a try.
What do you mean by shake dry being fragile? Does it deform or materials breaks? Also not being comfortable? Is it rough on the skin or something else is the issue?

It wears really easily. Rolled up in a jersey pocket inside a small bag to protect it taking in and out a couple times a month. After a few months loads of the areas where it had been folded partially worn through (hold it up to the light,an you can see through). Am assuming that this means the coating was gone, but waterproofing not great after that time. A lot of money for limited use.IvanZg wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 10:14 pmThank you all for suggestions. Shake dry is basically goretex active (gtx) without the outer durable wear layer and any interior next-to-skin layers. https://cyclingtips.com/2017/10/gore-te ... ng-jacket/
Goretex itself is just a screen door for vaporized moisture. It only works if there is air current inside the jacket and the outside air is less humid.
