Rim brake hold-outs may now officially commence the rending of garments as a symbol of mourning. My thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

Do today's latest bikes come with the smugness, or is that extra?

Newsflash: there are tens (maybe hundreds) of millions of rim brake bikes in existence on this planet, and not everyone wants to or can afford to go buy new ones just because the industry decided it had a new standard. Maybe you can. Good for you.

Lol. Calm down mate. This is the pro equipment thread. It's all about the latest gear, whether you want or can afford to buy it. Your reference to millions of rim brake bikes is misplaced here

Apologies to those with hurt feelings, I was only thinking of the many comments in this forum about Ineos sticking with rim brakes.

I have GP Denain on live silently in a window and... I can confirm Ineos are on discs.

SIr Brailsford has left the team in disgust at such a decision!

Lol, Sir Dave was the rim-brake fanatic.

GP Denain looks fantastic, reminiscent of Paris-Roubaix. Narrow lanes, cobbles and dirt, under autumn sunshine.

I prefer the classics racing in autumn, beautiful light and colours. Lombardy is a favourite race for this reason.

The same with the Grand Tour racing last year in the autumn, beautiful light, much nicer than the summer.

We can also hope for some interesting weather at Paris-Roubaix.

The Disc Pinarello does look very clean and seems to work great for them.

Then there is also this........
Dave Brailsford said.. wrote:However, the 57-year-old Brailsford revealed in July that he has overcome prostate cancer and heart surgery in recent years
and hinted he may step away from the stressful team management role.

"I’m trying to look after myself but I’m here to help other people, to lead and support other people.
If the moment comes when you’re trying to support yourself more, then it’s time to get out."
