Lefevere saying that Almeida is leaving DQS (guessing its to UAE) . Only report seems to be from Lefevere.

At the start of the Giro no less.. Guess he had his feelings hurt and doesn't give a shit as he has his golden boy Remco in the team.

Edit.. Sam Bennett also leaving.

Gaviria was forced to give the Giro barriers a thorough test in that sprint. Good that they didn't give way.

Re Albstadt World Cup MTB:
"Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) worked his way forward from 93rd on the starting grid making the leading group before finishing fifth."

That looked like Viviani who was in perfect position thought the finish was much later he looked completely surprised when nizzolo came past (it almost looks like he didn't even register merlier).

If Lefevre let Remco slip through his fingers he would never hear the end of it from the Belgian press/public. He had to pay.

Bennett leaving the Quickstep team may also give the space for Sagan to join. Sagan will always have to be a Specialized rider.

Onto which team will the Bennett now go?

Just watched the SBS re-broadcast. It's funny as a lifelong cyclcross fan to hear people talk about Merlier like "where did this guy come from"? Uh, he's been racing cross for the last 10 years. Merlier is the guy that taught WvA how to sprint. Another guy they are going to have questions about is Gianni Vermeersch, he's going to win a stage. Honestly it's weird that commentators are so one dimesnsional, (and I like the Aussie guys) it's not even my job and I follow all forms of cycling and know more about the racers than 90% of the announcers. Same happens when I watch World Cup mountainbiking.

Just read on Pidcocks IG feed that he punctured. That had to be why he lost all that time after finally amking it up to the front.

It's pretty annoying actually - he's been around for years; it's like they think Wout v Mathieu is a new thing - they've been battling for over 10 years. They're far too insular. They need to take the road glasses off, and watch other disciplines.....and learn.

I remember around the Rio Olympics, and BBC 5 Live had a cycling programme, and mentioned " the greatest cyclist you've never heard of..." who happened to be Nino Schurter.

He probably was, but it's also how DQS have worked for ages.

Cav, Kittel, Gaviria, Viviani and now Bennet.
All come to win lots with the best train in the WT, then move to the bigger money that winning lots brings you, then win less.
