Yeah I'm going to go with the high-speed camera's projected line not only being distance offset, but possible angle offset too -- compared to the painted line.

It appears that may have been the case today. https://twitter.com/laflammerouge16/sta ... 10/photo/2Karvalo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 1:54 pmI might be misremembering but I'm sure this happened once and the organisers said the finish line was painted wonky relative to the photo setup and that's what counted? Though in this case it'd have to be quite seriously off!TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 1:35 pmhttps://twitter.com/laflammerouge16/sta ... 7602387969
How exactly did Ruth win here? lol.
I guess Vollering should have been throwing her bike instead of celebrating seated. Is it pulling an Alaphilippe if you use only one hand, or does that require a full post-up?

The blue line only indicates that there is a very slight parallax effect in the broadcast camera. 1-2 degrees max.
The only other explanation I can think of is Demi leaned her bike (and thus wheel) toward the camera while Ruth leaned away. This would put the leading edge of Demi's tire/wheel closer in the frame than the black line and the opposite in Winder's case.
I think you need to have both hands up in the air in order to be fully humiliated a-la Alaphilipe.garbageman wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:27 pm.... Is it pulling an Alaphilipe if you use only one hand, or does that require a full post-up?

Nice sprint from Pidcock, WVA’s lack of base training is really starting to show
As for that photo finish, I don't see the problem. With video you have 2 frames but none of them on the line. If you throw your bike perfectly, it's quite possible to be in front between the 2 frames where you are behind. Unlikely, but plausible.

If I was a DS or team owner I would have a clause that if you lose a race celebrating too soon you owe all the riders on your team in that race 100 Euro.flying wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:07 pmSomeone else posted another shot below in that threadTobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 1:35 pmhttps://twitter.com/laflammerouge16/sta ... 7602387969

Vollering is young, no?
Pretty impressive by Pidcock at De Brabantse Pijl.
Is he missing a golden chance at the Olympic road race being a hilly course by doing the mtb race? He has demonstrated an ability to beat the best when more climbing is involved and when it's a hard long race.

At the moment, he's not doing the Olympic MTB race - he hasn't qualified for it, yet. The early season World Cups will be decisive for this. However, you'd think he'd race what he has the best chance of a medal in, even though the MTB race has been the target.

Can you tell me why in last year's Tour d'Italie Espoirs they stuck a race number on the helmet?
Is that customary in European U23 races?

Our boy, zwift academy winner.. Jay Vine finishes 2nd up the Elmali climb stage in his first world tour stage race. Believe he just got to Europe a month ago.. Massive result.
Got feel for Charmig.. Blew so hard in the last 200m you could see the smoke coming out from his legs.
