Yeah, when the courses become heavy mud, they'll usually win; they have so much more power than all the others. Was pleased to see Ceylin looking like her former self, on a course she does well on - maybe she's slowly getting form back in time for the Worlds.
And Wout demonstrated nobody can live with him in those conditions; Tom had no chance of matching those mega watts, but was good on the technical sections - which is to be expected. As already said, his best discipline is MTB, were the longer climbs and technical parts suit him far better.

Jeez how did I not know this. I am going to keep my eye out on the film coming for the crazy canuk. I was always aware of his name but it really wasnt that apparant amoung the road groups obviously.OnTheRivet wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 7:57 pmActually Chainsaws started in Downhill mountainbike racing in 2012ish. One of the most popular racers on the circuit at the time was Canadian Stevie "Chainsaw" Smith. His supporters started showing upo with actual chainsaws but that was stopped so they started bring just the 2 stroke engines. Steve passed away in 2016 but is still a popular figure in the downhill scene.eins4eins wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 8:57 amspectators with chain saws are a common thing in motocross for many years already, as they sound kind of similar to the two stroke bikes fans love. started in europe at the dutch and belgian tracks with their hardcore mx fan scene.
The venue at Namur also used to host one of the most famous world championship mx races with thousand of spectators. some probably also love CX.

I don't think Wout's timed his form particularly, his base level is just that much better than everyone else except MvdP. Iserbyt probably timed his season better than anyone else

Wasnt someone in Wouts camp saying that they didnt want him to come into peak form before the spring classics though or at least just not yet. If he is not in peak form, that has to be a rather frightening message for all the classics guys. Scary monster anyway.
