What is the date when olympics ranking/listings will be finalised?
For XC MTB the qualification period is now closed, so I believe it's all done. Thanks to a Romanian rider finishing in the top 20 at Nove Mestro I believe a slot opened up for Team GB, so Pidcock will go barring injury (although not seen any official announcement)
UCI is supposed to publish the final rankings and country qualifications tomorrow.

Indeed.. Sagan took that win perfectlywith the sprint to catch Milano around that bend and hold off the rest.. Suited him actually.. Nizzolo and Merlier would of been favoured if he wasn't dropped by bora and ism early.

Felt for Campernets.. Tried so hard to get Nizzolo back.. Look of absolute defeat on his face.

Any idea where to find the fines etc for each stage? The UCI website only seems to have results.

Looks like the day will belong to the break, 13 min advance with 80km to go.

What a stage... Hype is real.

Remco suffered for his handling skills.. Had to keep closing gaps after every gravel corner where he loses lengths.. He had a tantrum(yanked out his ear piece) at one stage but at least recovered his composure to finish the stage but lost minutes to Bernal.

Almeida was distinctively slow to help Remco multiple times.. Is this Lefevere's bridge burning at the start of the Giro coming back to bite him?

Bernal and Ineos rode this perfectly.. So so impressive. They really put the hurt on the whole peloton.

What a stage indeed... for spectators at least!

With the added tire and chain slap noises gravel creates over the usual motos/cars/helicopter noises around, it's harder to hear from the earpiece, I wouldn't be surprised if Almeida just didn't immediatly know Remco was dropped.

So far, Bernal is a lot more impressive than when he won the Tour de France.

Somebody better make Remco train on CX and MTB courses this offseason. The kid really needs to work on his bike handling more than his fitness.

Bernal going on the front himself to drive the pace when Evenepoel was dangling 10 or 15 bike lengths off the back was awesome. Took complete control of his own Giro in that moment. Fantastic all round bike rider and it'll be great to see Bernal v Pogacar at the Tour next year if his back holds up.

Bernal seems like a very likeable rider. Happy for him to be back after being bashed hard by everyone last year (I recall "most overhyped rider in history")

Im surprised he overcome so quickly his back problem; back in.....february/march (?) when he started racing he suddenly took 1 or 2 races off as he had again back problem.

It's not finished yet, fortunately.

Kjetil,
Foss was good, shame he had lost 1.5 minutes on stage 4. He could be around 3rd now, if he didn't pull for Bennett, no?

Will be interesting to see if they do anything with him; a bit of off road training wouldn't harm.
As a relative latecomer to the sport, he has very little experience of racing these conditions. Some gain it through experience - and others (like Bernal) have an off road background, so are comfortable with the bike moving around under them on loose surfaces.
He kept falling back - and then having to get back - wasting energy - eventually it adds up and you've very little left. I think it maybe a combination of lack of handling, and also the crash in Il Lombardia - which happened when he was chasing on a descent when Nibali upped the pace.

That's the one issue with some of these people transfering to road cycling from other sports; they may have the engine - but you need racecraft and being comfortable on gravel/cobbles/ descending.
