with the UCI eSports champs coming up, is there any appetite on this board for a thread that would discuss these?
I would vote for a separate thread as to not pollute this one about real pro cycling and real racing with that crap... Just my personal opinion.
I second that... eSports needs to be separate so it can be more easily ignored
Seriously. Zwift et al. and cycling may sorta look alike, but there is actually very little in common apart from feet doing circles.

An extended article about the UCI's dealings with the dictatorship of Turkmenistan. The regime seems to think they will be hosting the UCI Road World Championships in 2026, while UCI are attempting to be as vague as possible issuing mostly non-denial statements. To the surprise of no-one Lappartient seems to be thoroughly corrupt…

Why we should be 100% behind an all-new new governing body.
Too many things why this kind of thing could be the ruin of the sport.

Brian Cookson may have been a bit boring, but at least he wasn't half as bent as his predecessors or successor... Still this sort of thing seems perfectly normal in sports governance (Olympics, FIFA, etc)

Rather than take the UCI to the International Criminal Court, just boycott it and back the new org.
Wait, what new org?
There's your problem.

Oh no, looks like here in the US, NBC's Olympic Channel is no longer broadcasting UCI' CX World Cup races!

Wout Van Aert, "I will use the first 3 races to get some form and then focus on winning".

First race, 3rd place.
