In the US; buying from British-based online stores?
Moderators: robbosmans, Moderator Team
i'm looking at a Bora One tubular wheelset, and british-based stores have MUCH better pricing.
however there's one place that "stands out" quite a bit more than the others, with the initials P B K
reviews in the recent years are alarming, and i'm wondering if its worth the risk?
also, what kind of extra shipping/import charges might i be looking at with a purchase like this?

I have two sets of Boras bought from different countries. One from Germany and it was shipped via a slower method and I paid zero duties. On the other set I found a better price from a U.K. outlet. The wheels got here in two days with DHL Express but I had to pay a 10% duty which is a lot on the Bora Ultra set. I do believe that duty is somehow tied to the shipper / shipping speed. The expensive shipping option collects duty for the government and they get a cut of the duty, much like the state tax credit the state gives to the sales tax collector here in the U.S. So if in doubt use the cheaper shipping option, of pick the retailer that uses the cheaper shipping option.

I have bought two sets of Campy Zonda's from PBK as well as a few other orders for various things
Everything always ended fine but the shipping for the wheels in my case took a long time as it went
thru TrakPak who for some crazy reasons decided to change our city & zip code?
So we had to track it down ourselves & thru USPS have it diverted after to us.
price as you say is good & I agree but if you have a choice or it is close go with Chain Reaction for better safer shipping
As they use Royal Mail then USPS no problems
Both Merlin & PBK use TrakPak
About import duties I had none & I think you do not if under $800 I think?
PBK on their ship link say $800

But you need to check
