I've often seen posts online and on instagram about people doing custom cycling shoes... usually, they use soccer boots that they take apart and then they mount the bottom of cyclin shoes onto those.
Has anyone on here tried this? or seen more specific info about doing it?

Luck cycling does custom shoes. I get mine from them. Price is same as Specialized S Works
Here's a very good video tutorial on how to paint your own shoes.

That's not what he is asking for.
