I had to stop my bike ride on Friday to allow an eastern brown snake to get off the bike path. They're highly venomous, but luckily not particularly aggressive unless you get too close.

I/we saw my first one for this season but he/she was high-tailing it back into the scrub as I can up to it.........all good, live & let live.
